I have never been so disappointed, always loved it here. But yesterday I was so upset. Roast dinner is expensive but the atmosphere normally makes up for it after all that's why I like eating out!! My food arrived before our drinks ( which in...the end my partner collected from bar!) The food was cold, like freezing , cold vegetables, gravey & potatoes tasted old & the Yorkshire was even colder. of course complained got dinner back 10 mins later and the supervisor assured me it was now hot as the plates are hot to hold!! Well the food told a different story...it was still cold !! Come on Saracens Head, your better than this.More

Poor food, poor value for money. Basically chicken and chips all with posh names ok but overcooked chips Fish cakes - slop, tepid, don't taste of fish and not hot

We were dinner guests at the Royal Saracens Head last month on a very busy Saturday night - a party of four, which included two immensely jet-lagged Canadians (my husband and I). Our server, Olalla, was amazing - kind and patient, professional and friendly. Kudos...also to Chef Jack, and dessert guru Andrew for our delish meal. Looking forward to our next visit, when we’re back in the UK!More

Came for a bite to eat as heard good things about this place. Venue is lovely and so where the staff but food was a bit bland and not overly impressed with the pill pill prawns, and garlic bread. I just think for what they...charge I would expect more. Hopefully it was an off day and I would give them another chance but must do better next timeMore

This gastro pub used to be great as a quick drop in but I’m not sure what has happened. The service was slow, the tables weren’t automatically cleaned between people leaving and those arriving. Staff were congregated around the bar oblivious to several new arrivals,...who were patiently waiting. We experienced this also. The drinks were good but our food was taken from pillar to post even when we indicated it was ours. It finally arrived on our table having had a tour of the restaurant. The food was just passable. With so many great gastro pubs and restaurants in the area, we won’t be returning. If you are a Manager reading this review, please take on board this constructive criticism.More
