We had the Ham Hock for a starter and Moules for main. Both dishes were very tasty and well presented. The sauce on the Moule was excellent. Service good and staff friendly and efficient. The ambience of the hotel is good, a very old building which has been adapted well with a mix of old & new furniture. Only downside... More

This place should be nice but it's so disappointing and uncomfortable, the seats very cold and hard. The food is terrible, I've been there twice, wouldn't even recommend the tea, horrible stale scones.

Nice place with a good atmosphere and quirky feeling to it. As such, acoustics are a bit strange and drinks on the expensive side of nice, but still a good place to go.

We went on a SUnday night and unfroutnaltey it had a limited menu on. However, what we had was fine, if a little over priced for what it was. It is Amersahm and the locals probably can afford it!

The Crown really is a lovely setting, and all courses for our party of six was delicious. The service from our waiter Hugo was fantastic - very professional, and his knowledge of wines was very helpful. A lovely place to go for a quiet dinner.

We were staying in the hotel and opted for a dinner inclusive rate. The evening menu was fairly limited but you could also choose from the daytime menu which is more classic pub fare. Clearly the thing to have is a good pie or steak. I had the duck of which the little pot of confit topped with potato was... More

This was probably the worst meal I have had at any pub (let alone a gastro pub) since the 1970's...my dish - liver and mash consisted of stubby rubbery offcuts. Out of our party of eight - the dishes ranged from inedible to sub-standard...it was a birthday party so we all decided to grin and bear. Go to this pub... More

We stayed at the Crown Hotel for 4 days, and ate at the Crown restaurant and Chop House several times. The food was very good, and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The organisation within the bar area is poor. The staff frequently struggle to serve the most basic of drinks including a whisky mask, white wine sprinter and a dry sherry. This is a quality hotel and bar.there is also confusion about teaching and coffee if they serve caffeinated or decaffeinated or not. The decor within is tasteful and sports a... More
