The propriotors of this watering establishment ,go out of their way to make this a memorable experience.there are many things that can go wrong in a pub ,staffing issues. ,cash flow, being tyed to a unforgiving brewery ,with little help from them to sproose up the place. I think they do their best ,admittedly mr.ellis could be a little less active... More

This has the opprtunity to be a great village pub, yet has never taken it up. Rather walk 2 miles to the next village than drink here. Unfriendly, rowdy atmosphere, with a welcome taken from the Slaughtered Lamb.

Full English breakfast with no mushrooms, hash browns or black pudding!! Really?? The whole breakfast smelled like it had been thrown in old fat. No one in our party of 8 could stomach it and two were physically ill after only a couple of mouthfuls! Really really horrid food! The evening meal the night before of scampi and gammon were... Walk in on your own and hear the banjos start playing. Rude landlord and poor beer. Just don't bother

Any public house with large posters advertising a well known satellite sport TV company, is not normally on my list of pubs to visit for something to eat. After crossing the threshold I realised I had ignored one of my cardinal rules. The lady serving behind the bar spent several minutes wrestling with a TV controller in an attempt to... More

I'm surprised at the poor reviews for this venue, I thought the choice of drinks was pretty good and I had an ace pizza freshly made. It was pretty busy so some people like it!

Booked this over the phone, very easy to book and pay, was told room was en-suite and breakfast included, room was basic and floor needed hoovering, bathroom was freezing so we decided to shower once we got home, instructions on bedroom door say to leave key in room on day of departure which we did, we took our case to... We were fortunate enough to have a private party in The Bird In Hand, great buffet, great service and fabulous atmosphere, experienced the bar later in the evening and had great fun - The pub had a brilliant space outdoors and I can imagine in the summer this would be a fab place to while away the hours with an...
