There are great views right outside of this restaurant, and the ambiance, workers and food are great. It is very peaceful. There are also some little stores around with great shopping.

When visiting the Cliffs be sure to make time for a meal at the Aquinnah Shop Restaurant. It is by far ,the most lovely and breath taking views up island. Time seems to stop when seated on the outdoor terrace where you can see almost forever viewing the Elizabeth Islands and beyond. Be it Breakfast Lunch or Dinner, you have... More

We love this place, great view! This is where I bought my bone letter opener, sterling silver tongue ring and we always stay by the indoor corner and take photos of the sea bass fish hanging on the wall. Will be in the Island so 3 weeks this year !

There are a few things that everyone must do during their first visit to Martha's Vineyard and eating at Aquinnah Shop Restaurant is one of them. The staff is very friendly. The food is not high end but it is local fare, tastily prepared. A lobster roll, or fried clam roll with chips and a bottle of Sam Adams is... More

I rate this highly for the spectacular views of the Vineyard Sound. The staff were welcoming and friendly too. There was a nod to the history of the local native American community but I would have loved to see more. As a vegetarian, the pickings were scare and taste was okay. I had the grilled cheese with tomatoes and onions... More

My husband was last here 30 years ago. This morning he said "Let's take a drive to Gay Head, I know a great place for lunch looking over the water." He was right! The view was just as he remembered and so was the food. It is well worth the drive.

On a sunny day, breakfast at the Aquinnah is one of life's great pleasures. The food is good -- try the blue flour pancakes or waffles -- but it's the view that overwhelms.

When it comes to the proverbial "million dollar view" this is the spot on Martha's Vineyard. This no nonsense little restaurant right next to the cliffs and lighthouse at Gay Head in Aquinnah is definitely a place worth stopping. I have been here a few times and best times are mid morning or of course evenings for the best sunset... More

Not fussy in any way and quite delicious. The more interesting dishes were in fact -- more interesting and better. Delicious halibut swimming in a corn chowder with shrimp and bacon and what could be bad. Order something with words like "seared" or "pico de gallo" in them. Priced like top quality fish is priced ($28-$34 entree). Good chowder -... More

Wonderful view of the ocean and clay cliffs from the lookout area and the outdoor seating at the restaurant. There are several small shops in the same area that have nice souvenirs and decent prices. Everyone agreed in my dinner party, that the food was just okay, the service friendly and fun, the sweet potato fries (cost extra) were delicious,... More

Our restaurant was founded at the beginning of World War II by Napolean Madison, the Wampanoag tribal medicine man, and whaler. Presently it is owned by Napoleans son Luther, his wife Anne, and her son Cully. Much of the fish that we use is cought by Wampanoag people from the surrounding waters.
