Opened in 2020 Bongos is a local favorite located at The Lagoon on Grassy Key home to Keys Cable Park and The Rhum Runner Aqua park. Bongos boasts 20 draughts with a large variety of beers and tropical cocktails that is perfectly paired with its Food Truck. Nestled in a coral courtyard surrounded by palms, hammocks, and banana trees, Bongos is the perfect stop for Brunch, Lunch, or libations with killer keys vibes. Snag a drink and cruise the gardens to see the tropical fruits served out of the food truck or ask one of the professional wake and kiteboard coaches for a tour of the surf shop or the street art murals located throughout the property. Bongos is an awesome hidden gem, and a must see stop on your trip through the keys.

Gorgeous Tropical Setting!

Heard good things about this place. Tried it for breakfast. Food was outstanding. My husband had the Coconut French Toast and I had the Folded Egg sandwich. Our server was friendly and attentive. He even brought over freshly made Hot Sauce from peppers grown onsite. Setting was beautiful.

Dine at a collection of tables in a coconut grove in the Keys

Never in my life have I tasted something exactly like the grilled cheese with carmelized onions and au jus dip on the lunch menu at Bongos. It was gorgeous—I can say that about food, right? Just to check that I hadn’t simply been bowled over by outdoor ambiance, relaxed diners, staff, and adventurous menu, I asked a group of fellow diners how their food had been and was answered with rolling eyes and “Oh, my God! It was delicious!” I’m sold. You want to find me? I’ll be at Bongos.

Fun for the summer

Bohemian atmosphere. Cornhole game, jinga games. Plenty of seating. Swings for seating or for kids to play on. The food was generous. 3 street tacos for the pork belly and the French grilled cheese sandwich on rye had generous onions. We would definitely return.

Yummy little outdoor cafe!

Found this little gem tucked away by the Lagoon. Tasty food and eco friendly! Many of the items on the menu are grown and harvested on site. Tried breakfast and dinner both 5 star dishes. I highly recommend the coconut french toast with butter rum syrup!😋

Great stop for a late lunch!

Decided to do a 2pm tour of the Turtle Hospital and the plan was to just get a late lunch. This is an outdoor restaurant in a Garden setting. We knew they closed at 6pm as they serve breakfast and lunch. Our bartender, Carly was very professional and friendly. I chose the HULI HULI WRAP because she described how the chef was from the Big Island and the pineapple glaze was his family recipe. it did not disappoint! Husband got the fresh snapper tacos. Everything was great serving portions and absolutely delicious. Around 4pm, started seeing locals stop by and get a drink. This is a very casual stop with clean restrooms.

What a hidden gem!

What a hidden gem! We were only staying 15 minutes from here and drove by, looked it up and saw the amazing reviews so we knew we had to give it a try. First off, the atmosphere is amazing... it’s like you’re sitting in someone’s tropical backyard. Plenty of things to do for kids and keeping them entertained while you enjoy a drink and some delicious food. They had giant Jenga, hammock swings, connect 4, chess. The food was so fresh! The grouper potato cakes were ok, but the flavor was great. Could’ve used more grouper, but the shrimp tacos were amazing as well as the jerk chicken salad. Would love to come back and check out their brunch! The menu looks amazing.

The fusion of Caribbean flavors is excellent! The Hulli chicken and chimichurri, the burger, the brunch – all excellent! Such great ambience, surrounded by what seems like a jungle. To our surprise, there was the aqua park and wakeboarding on site! Aqua Park for ages 5+. There is also a very small beach area for children and parents that may be too small for the activities to splash around and cool off. There are even outdoor showers to rinse off :) The reason I gave it a four and not a five was because the lifeguard that was in charge at the Aquapark was on her phone the entire time, not watching the participants at all. Management really needs to address this ASAP as this is not OK.

Garden sanctuary with awesome drinks and beer selection, and good food.

Loved the chilled vibe at Bongo’s! But what really blew me away were the amazing margaritas made by Mike. They were made with fresh lime juice, no terrible mixer. I didn’t think it was possible to get a good Margarita in the Keys, but here you can. Rejoice! We also tried the flank steak bowl with chimchurri sauce. It was delicious! Give it a try and you won’t be disappointed.

Enjoyed so much came back twice in one day Had lunch and loved it. So we came back for dinner. Cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. Make a point of going. You will not be disappointed

Hidden Tropical Gem with Craft Beers

Bongos is a hidden gem with exceptional staff and awesome drinks! There is a great selection of craft and local beers. Bartenders Dylan and Mike were friendly and attentive. This local spot offers a fun outdoor ambience and is definitely worth a visit!

Great coffee and breakfast

Great spot for coffee and breakfast. Our kids also enjoyed roaming the little trails that they have behind the cafe through their botanical garden. Will definitely be back for a post noon visit to enjoy the beer garden aspects of this location.

Exceptionally chilled vibes.

What an amazing experience. A great band playing, great beer, hammocks and the best pina coladas. Artists doing their thing behind the bar and a beach and water front at the side. Staff were so chilled, relaxed and friendly. Just outside Marathon.

Sorry Susan! Three items have avo and over 20 other items don’t! Sorry we sold out of what you were hoping for! Draughts rotate seasonally and we’d rather be selling it than sitting on it, we try to keep all lines full but also extending our apologies for missing that mark, we love beer too!
