Excellent food and service. I was alone and sat at the bar, it felt (with all the eyes on me) people were more uncomfortable with the fact that a woman was sitting at a bar alone. I am single and travel alone at times and when I am home I have no issue going out alone. The crowd tends to... More

We had planned on coming here for our last night on vacation for a special meal (without the kids!) When we got there at 9:35 the "open" sign was still out. When we went in they informed us that they had just closed. What, at 9:30?! I mentioned that their website says closing is at 11pm. To which they responded... More

Been here a couple of times. Food and service are good. Location by the ocean is fantastic. However each time we have been there they seem either unwilling or incapable of ordering a cab to take you home. Then you have to walk into Akumal village(20 mins) where hopefully you can get a cab. Not easy later in the evening.The... More

There is only 1 vegetarian and 1 vegan option on the menu, but they will make up a veggie pasta or rice dish. Depending on how complicated you want things, it may help if you know some Spanish. The food is good. Fresh ingredients and well prepared. Be advised/warned that drinks are strong. Service is friendly and a little slow... More

If you are able to visit La Lunita for lunch or dinner, do it! The food is delicious, fresh and expertly prepared. The chef really knows what he is doing. The service we had was first rate, professional and made our experience even better. The location can't be beat, even if you are not sitting out on the sand, the... More

On a very busy Sunday evening, staff were attentive and helpful. The restaurant changes its menu at intervals, so we found many new possibilities. The Spanish chef specializes in paellas - we tried two different kinds, both excellent. One of us had the grilled tuna, beautifully prepared, quite rare, with a tangy sauce on the side. Next time we will... More

Exceptional food and service right on the beach in Half Moon Bay. After 2 weeks in the area, we kept going back to La Lunita!

We didn't have a reservation so had to sit by the kitchen door. This wasn't as nice as sitting outside and enjoying the sea brease We had the lobster special, the portions were large but the lobster itself was a bit tough.

Our shared surf and turf dinner at sunset by the ocean was a highlight of our Akumal Bay holiday. This quaint restaurant boasts a fantastic beachside location that affords the opportunity to experience fine dining with your toes in the sand.

We went to Las Lunitas for a dinner our first night in Akumal. It’s a beautiful setting—half the tables inside, and half on the sand next to the beach. Our only issue was that, despite walking down early to arrange a reservation, our table was usurped by a large party at the time we arrived. Thankfully we were not in... More
