Don't let the casual environment throw you off; this is serious food preparation. With a specialty in seafood, the menu is mostly fish and shellfish....but they have meat as well as vegetarian options. We ordered sea bass and monkfish. Each entree comes with a choice of sauce (Curry, verdes, garlic, etc.) and 2 sides. The portions are generous and the... More

I gave Tabarka a very poor review after having two consecutive negative experiences last year. We had not been there since. Today I was there with a group. This was like old times when Tabarka was my favorite restaurant in Ajijic. The food was OUTSTANDING, and the service was very good (especially when you consider how crowded they were). Well... More

We had the most delightful dinner and evening at the new Tabarka on Ramon Corona. The tapas were fabulous. The garden setting is enchanting. But the two big bonus treats were the truly great jazz played by a saxophonist and watching the chef and his adorable children dancing together. It was a magical evening in Ajijic. Tabarka would be a... More

Delicious, fresh seafood... great location and a very beautiful, tranquil setting. The Chef is from Spain and his cooking style and flavors are the best I have experienced.

This is a wonderful restaurant for foodies. Their tapas "deal" is incredible. We always order the 12 course option and you have no idea what you'll get but it's always a pleasant surprise. My friend swears by the pallea but if you don't order ahead be prepared to wait at least 45 minutes. David makes it from scratch.

primarily a fish restaurant. I had swordfish which was excellent but the 2 side dishes potatoes and pineapple salsa were very small.

We have dined here at least once a month since moving here in Feb 2016. All of our experiences have been good or better, until today. The place has been stripped of it's former ambiance. The trellis is gone and the art work is missing, there is a huge banner announcing another location that opened two months ago. There were... More

Three of us had a leisurely lunch here. A comfortable outdoors and bucolic setting. The waiters here are long-time employees, professional and efficient. The margaritas were expertly prepared, and complemented the fresh ceviche starter we ordered. They offer bread with a tasty garlic spread. We ordered their grill special, and chose shrimp, grouper, swordfish and amberjack. All were cooked perfectly,... More

I visited the restaurant as part of a large group so we did not have a choice of menu, it was a ser dinner arranged by our host. I assumed service would be slow as our group was quite large, it was not. The food consisted on tapas, chistorra, octopus and other similar dishes, all very nice. The main course... More
