Great place for lunch or dinner, romantic evening, or lunch with the children. Try the quesadillas, lobster Mac and cheese, or their daily lunch specials. Only problem is they close in the winter.

My wife and ate here on the night we stayed at the Inn. Dinner was excellent. For me, scallops, mushrooms and onions in a white sauce. For my wife, lobster pot pie. Very tasty. The waitress encouraged us to put on some conductor hats hanging in the dining room, then took our picture in various poses. We had a blast.

Great service, fantastic food with a daily changing 'special'. We ate here twice during our stay at the railway inn and had fantastic meals both evenings. A must visit if you are in the area.

Found this gem two years ago after a family bereavement was impressed then but didn't review, now back again decided to try again. Had the same meal, emperor salad, bacon wrapped scallops and king prawns, served with Caesar salad, as well as seafood chowder, all excellent. Service second to none, and homemade biscuits.

When we travel we like to find good seafood chowder. We found it here and will be back for more. The ambience of the 1928 dining car adds to the dining experience.

I came last year and have been looking forward to a return visit. The setting is great -just as I remember a dining car in the 40s - table linen , courteous service, good food. We had seafood chowder to start - mainly salmon but creamy and good, with no thhickener except the cream. Homemade biscuits with butter come with... More

This year, we learned that the dining car was originally one of the immigrant transport cars that took immigrants from Pier 21 in Halifax to wherever they were going to settle in Canada. We had learned a lot about these trains when visiting the Immigration Museum in Halifax. My husband had chowder and I enjoyed the chicken gumbo soup. After... More
