We were so disappointed in this place. After a lovely time at the Salmonier Nature park, we (12 people including kids) wanted to go for lunch. The place across the street was recommended to us (The Station Diner), but it was very busy and having hungry kids with us, we wanted to avoid the long wait. Across the street we... More

Our experience in this restaurant was just awful! The tables and high chairs looked like they hadn't been cleaned in ages - we had to wipe them down ourselves. The batter on the fish was soaking wet on the bottom - disgusting!! The coffee was not even drinkable. There were 6 people in our group and all of us except... More

For the amount (and quality) of food you get, it is far too overpriced. Ordered the soup of the day which was listed at $7, but they ended up charging $14, and argued that the listed soup was the "side soup". So we had to pay their ridiculous price. They also didn't have all the ingredients listed in the other... More

We had stuffed squid and fish and chips. The cod and squid were incredibly fresh and delicious! The chips were great too. Service from Rebecca was warm and quick! Good selection when in the area!

Visited the beach cottage with my family last night. This restaurant is now under new ownership and boy what an improvement!! I dined with 7 others and everyone loved their meals and appetizers. I can't wait to go back.

The pasta was great and ample portions meant we had enough for lunch the next day too. Friendly service.

Nice place, good service. However, the food was just 'ok'. First, they were out of what we both wanted, so they offered us a chicken breast dinner. Sounded good. However, the chicken was nothing more than a bagged chicken breast, and the veggies were definitely straight out of a can.

I lived not far from this restaurant for 15 years and never went to it. Recently ate there (another 20 years later) and boy was I missing out. We ordered 3 appetizers and 2 entrees and wine and we loved eveything. The mussels in wine sauce (excellent), the wings (deadly), the calamari (best ever) and the seafood pasta (amazing). We... We dined here on a Friday night and they weren't very busy which surprised me on a Friday. The interior is warm and inviting and well appointed. The menu has a nice variety of choices and the service was good. Our server was new and was so pleasant and did a good job. My husband opted for a NY strip... More

it was very warm but the weather was unusually warm. However a couple of fans would have been helpful.

Description
Since the mid 1800’s, The Beach Cottage has been a familiar Holyrood landmark.Initially the building was designed as a hotel, and later got its current name in the mid 1920’s.It was the place for an afternoon outing, or a weekend in the country, accessible by vehicle or train. It was also a destination for vacationers and newlyweds. The neighborhood has changed. The Beach Cottage Restaurant has reopened to offer its patrons home cooked meals in a relaxed and comfortable setting in the style of 1866. The kettle’s on!We cater to private parties of 100 persons, or smaller groups in one or both of our dining rooms.
