Stopped here as the original place we wanted to go too was closed! Well great for us! Sat on the patio with beer and cider enjoying the warmth of the fun! The food was tasty, the fries home made and the staff attentive! Worth the...More

Thank you very much! I wished that I could cook and serve at the same time so I can visit with everyone. Always a pleasure seeing you.

My husband and I often cycle the long distance to Shawnigan Lake because we love the fresh grilled halibut burgers and crispy fries at the Village Chippery. Perfect every single time! The staff are always friendly, too. Try this little gem at the Lake!

I was craving some good fries and coleslaw and hadn't tried this place before. The fries were hard and crunchy. I think they must have been deep fried twice. They were awful. The coleslaw was average. I wouldn't take a chance on having another meal...More

The quality and quantity of the fish and chips here is excellent. The fries are fresh and tasty and the coleslaw is the best I've ever tasted. Service is prompt and friendly.

This was an educational meal. I learned that "seafood chowder" means mostly chunks of potato in a glutinous mass with a bit of fishy flavour and no discernible pieces of actual seafood. I learned that a hamburger patty could be tougher than I had ever...More

I had grilled salmon (not deep fried) on a very substantial platter. It made for a great lunch after a morning of hiking. Good family eatery. Not for fine dining at all, but very tasty for a chipper.

If you like salmon, try our salmon and quinoa patty cakes! Delicious and nutritious! Thank you for coming in.

The Chippery is not your usual fish'n'chip shop. Instead it's a fresh open, bright and friendly spot, done in retro 50's decor. Lots of energy, great service, and a menu that includes grilled cod, salmon, and halibut. They also have Merridale cider.

At first we walked away from the Chippery as it looked like just another fish and chips joint. Then the cafe down the street vouched for their food so we returned with skeptical expectations. The friendly servers accidentally goofed my order (I ordered the salmon...More
