We stopped here and it was certainly unique- the first thing we noticed were the goats grazing on the roof. The place was absolutely packed with people. They sell a variety of food items- baked goods, trail mix, sauces, and some produce along with a variety of other items. We ordered food and they had healthy options (salads, etc,)- the... More

The Coombs, Old Country Market has an amazing selection of oils, sauces, cheese, bakery items, toys, canned goods etc. It is a great stop for coffee, snacks, lunch with other places to shop and visit while you are there. It is a great shopping experience. We live on the island and enjoy it in the summer when the goats are... More

Just outside of Parksville the Coombs old country market is a great place to stop for shopping or lunch. The market is currently up scaling- removing older buildings and putting in new ones that have not yet opened. Produce at the market is reasonably priced. Baked goods are a bit expensive but they are of excellent quality. There is something... More

Worth a detour to see the Goats living on the roof of a supermarket. Quite expensive food, but I guess you would expect that as a tourist trap. However, there is an ice cream palour to the left of the building and that was probably the best ice cream on the island.

Well, this particular day the goats were out in the field behind the store, not on the roof, but the grass-covered roof was interesting anyway. We discovered this eatery at the back of the store, and were glad we did. The shopping plaza this is located in also has a pizza place and a Mexican restaurant, but this was the... More

We visited here a few times while on Vancouver Island. Its a great place to go for a morning mooch around followed by a delicious lunch or go along a coffee and a cake - but do try the food here. i We like the deli, the greengrocers and the other little shops at the back of the deli, including... our only reason to visit was to see the goats on the roof and they came out in spades standing right on the edge for multiple photo ops and grazing quietly at other times. there is a business under the goats but we paid it no attention

A strange theme to bring you in to the market but who doesn't love a goat on the roof! A large variety of options and huge servings sizes that account for the larger than average prices. Suggest you order one meal with sides and share.

They import specialty items from around the world. So you can buy and try treats, seasonings, food items etc from across Canada and around the world. Lots of interesting things to look at. Deli with all kinds of salmon, bakery, and onsite restaurant. We had the chowder- it was good. You'll know you're there when you see the goats on... More

A must do fun visit on Vancouver Island. The goats browsing on the Norwegian style market roof are gorgeous. The market itself is filled with a wide range of produce, even Tim Tam biscuits from Australia! Make sure you explore the rest of the village as well.
