My son and I were visiting Winston-Salem and staying at the Brookstown Inn, which is in walking distance from Senor Bravo's. We enjoyed our meal here due to the delicious authentic food, great atmosphere, and nice staff.. We both got tamales (cooked in the husk), I had the fish tacos and my son had a tostado and burrito. We both... More

This is not your typical Mexican food! Every dish has a distinctly authentic feel! Great margaritas and mixed drinks here as well!

Great place. If Chava has made his special salsa that day you must try it. Really good carnitas here.

The salsa is really good but the chips? No bueno. They were burned, greasy, clumped together and not cut all the way through. However, the rest of the food was really good and our server was very quick. I have a food allergy and she was very attentive towards it.

Arrived for lunch and even though they had a full house I was greeted and seated promptly. Although there were many items on the menu I requested a special order and they were accommodating. The meal was served hot and in a timely manner; It tasted great and the portions were large.

I went to this place for the first time and was thinking they were closing as there was no hosted and anyone even remotely around so decided perhaps I could get a to go order and after ten minutes of looking at the menu a woman appears and said they didn't close til ten so I decided to sit down... My wife and I are from Scottsdale, AZ and regularly vacation in Mexico. We are total snobs when it comes to authentic Mexican food and the last place we expected to find it was in Winston Salem. I am not kidding when I tell you that Sal, the owner, makes the best Palomas and Margaritas I've ever had in over... More

This place was just across the street from our hotel and very convenient. The food was great and the waitress was excellent. There was a bit of a wait because only one person was seating people and taking payments. She needed help, though she was doing her best and was very friendly.

I'm from San Diego and I'm a Mexican food snob. We have such good variety out here, I am quite spoiled. I am also told that the South doesn't do Mexican very well. So, I was cautious. But, the atmosphere was just like any popular eatery here in town... decidedly funky, un-pretentious Mexican... with all the color and splash that... More

Our experience here was highlighted by delicious food and good service. I had chicken tacos in soft tortillas and rice. The tacos were tasty and the rice was the best I have ever had at a Mexican restaurant. The chicken must have been marinated as it had a nice flavor. My wife enjoyed her taco salad and our 8-year old... More
