Don't be fooled by the exterior, the food is great even though the outside looks like a shack. Lots of seafood choices, and nice local, live music. The inside is decorated with a rustic clutter of signs, and beach themed articles. Want to know the drink menu?, just pull on the cord over the table and a toilet set a... More

This is a very informal 'shack' that serves all kinds of seafood - in plastic baskets, with plastic utensils. Colorful and whimsical decor. we were there on a weeknight and they had a guitar player/singer entertaining. lots of locals there. we were just visiting but were so glad we stopped there for dinner - shared a pound of tasty, steamed,... Very casual dining, but it's very good! 2 webcams to watch and the swing ring game is addicting..just ask my Sister. Love this place!

The room was cluttered...and the seafood was mediocre. The highlight was the margarita. The staff was friendly.

If you are familiar with crab houses, I am told this one is better than most. Our friends loved the food and felt it was a good find. My husband and I found the wooden benches and stools to be uncomfortable and the noise level very high. We ate crab cakes and they were okay... our friends had crabs and... More

Nothing special here. Everything is fast foodish. Everything is plastic cups, dreadful polystyrene, plastic, plastic. Ugh! We were expecting better than this. The food is so so. Not much for vegetarians. I had sweet potato fries which were good., the only good thing. Not sure why this joint gets some high ratings.

I've been coming to topsail for years and the quality of the crab pot has declined. On a recent visit, the steamed shrimp were rubbery, tough and tasteless. The price's have gone up while quality has declined.

We were here after the lunch rush. I had peel and eat shrimp and my friend had flounder. Both fish dishes were ok, the side dishes were not. Fried green tomatoes were very hard and the coating was wet. Hush puppies were good. The inside could use a good cleaning, our table was sticky. Service was not very attentive. Meh.

My wife said that her steamed spiced shrimp was terrific. My scallop sandwich was just OK. Some were good, some rubbery. The bun wasn't toasted. The lettuce and tomato were served on the side. The unsweetened iced tea didn't taste fresh. But the staff was friendly and attentive.
