How does kwey teow cost 25 bucks and consist of onions and a long wait? Nothing right, even the privileged kid behind the counter was smug with service.

Delicious lamb sate sauce, and chicken seasonal veggies. Rice was done well. Service polite and efficient. Very happy, most likely will return next trip.

Ordered T/A then decided to have in after paying. They wanted to charge an extra $8 with no service. Wouldn't even give us plastic forks to eat with. Never in my life have I experienced this. DON'T eat there. The food was so salty couldn't...eat it anywayMore

We were staying in York overnight and decided to go in to town for a meal. We both fancied Chinese but discovered upon entering the restaurant that the dining area was closed and the only option was take away. We decided to order and take...the food back to our bed and breakfast. For two adults and a child our order came to $80, three main dishes and two serves of rice. We have never spent so much money on Chinese food in our life! We basically paid dine in price for take away food. No wonder the restaurant has not re opened after covid, they are charging dine in prices without the added cost of waitresses, cleaners and other staff. The honey chicken was overcooked and tough and the rice was dry and tasted as though it had been sitting in a rice cooker for too long. Overall very disappointing.More

Our last night in York and we opted to have a meal from the restaurant adjacent our hotel. Take-away only due to Covid restrictions although the restaurant had sufficient area to allow indoor dining in compliance with current regulations. I believe that the normal menu...was used for take-away pricing. S/S pork for myself and spring rolls for my wife. Short wait and we headed back to our hotel. Spring rolls were fresh and I got to enjoy a leftover. The s/s pork was tasty but plenty of batter and difficult to identify the pork. Busy outlet when open.More

Ordered Spring rolls and wan tun for entree, spring rolls arrived first, the first mouthful was very cold and partially frozen, wan tun were hot but more pastry than filling. Waiter apologised and took the cold spring rolls away, he later returned with four more...which were ok. Main courses of prawn chow mein and mixed chow mein were ok but very bland, would appear that most of the ingredients were cooked from frozen. On settling the bill the owner asked for our comments, she knew about the cold food, but offered little in an apology or a reduction. Needless to say I would not recommend the restaurant given our experience.More

Absolutely amazing food, this little town is so lucky to have such a great Chinese restaurant in town. Glad we listened to Nick at the Caravan Park where we stayed he also told us about Grannies Kitchen another great place to eat in York.

All restaurants were fully booked that night we were in York so we ended up here enjoying delicious Chinese food. Very tasty platters and vegetables.

We love the Golden York. The food is so good, and it is such a friendly place. We just love it. Our favorite dishes are the beef with noodles, and the veggies w/oyster sauce. The beef is very tender and delicious, and the veggies are...also wonderful. Portions are heaping and the prices are great too. The atmosphere in there is just so nice as well. The owners are so friendly, as are the young people who take your order, and the other diners too. Everyone in there is obviously enjoying their food as much as we are. They do a lot of take-away as well. Five stars all the way for the Golden York!More

Nice food and great value for money, friendly staff and customers. Would defiantly eat here again if we go back to York.
