So we attended The Imperial Homestead for dinner (6 people), booked a couple of weeks prior for the dining room (Husband's birthday). While waiting to find out our table two groups of people in front were being served, then a sign was slapped on the...till to say a 45min wait was now in place.
Was informed of the table and that you should probably hurry to order as the time was increasing but they had stopped the walk ins.
So we did decide quickly and placed the order about 6.10pm, then easily 40mins later our youngest daughter was served her meal, she straight away said mum it's cold (sliders and chips) I said I'll say something and she said no I'll eat it! ( Didn't want a confrontation)
10 mins later entrees arrived, they were fine.
About another 15mins staff said our mains were coming, so out came out meals, husband's scotch fillet actually looked like a porterhouse, was asked for it medium (steak was so pink it was still mooing) and was cold. Other days porterhouse was asked to be well done and that was like a medium!
Yes we probably should've said something then and there but again we had waited for over an hour and were hungry and didn't want a confrontation.
I did go in the afternoon of the next day and spoke to one of the owners, and although apologetic didn't really care as she said she didn't want to upset the Mauritian chef as he could get angry!! And that we should've said something the night before, well upon thinking of that he sounds like he would've gotten upset on the night anyway if sent back to the kitchen, so then what??More
