A Little Underwhelming

This restaurant has a broad range of menu items to choose from. The Food was nice, however I was expecting the special fried rice to have more components to it as it was a little on the bland side. The Szechuan beef wasn’t very spicy and also a little on the bland side. The service lets this restaurant down. Once we were seated we were forgotten about and then eventually after a considerably long time someone came to take our order and I think it was because they went to clean the vacated table next to us and they saw that we still had the menus on our table. And then we waited a really long time to get your meal which was a little underwhelming and not really worth the wait.

Very busy, staff running to fill take-away orders constantly. Staff a bit too casual in their appearance, from my view. Feeling service is a bit rushed but food is really nice and when you make the effort you do get smiles.

Great food, but bad experience with dishonest people deciding to accept and eat our food order.

Good food, but 2nd night our food was delivered to the wrong table, to dishonest people who decided to accept it, they were seated next to us, and said nothing. 30 minutes later, as everyone around us continued to be served we voiced our concerns, at which they apologised, and brought us our ‘replacement meals, which was obviously hastily prepared, having recognised their error, and had very little meat. What added insult to injury, was the table that had chosen to say nothing about he obvious error, were told they would not be charged for the extra food, as it was not their fault! However we were charged in full…

Terribly Bad

Foods taste pretty normal but too pricey. And, Staff not so nice. We ordered 13 dishes, 11 dishes were served but the remaining 2 missing dishes were not served. We kept following up. The Manager came. We decided to cancel the missing orders. She blurted out “WHATEVER”. Her response was not appropriate for running such service.

We stopped in after a long day out at Stokes inlet national park for a take away dinner. We got the combination fried rice, honey chicken, braised beef in oyster sauce. The dishes were all great they cost was about right. They did A great job would recommend this to anyone who visits Esperance

Rip Off

The Biggest Rip Off’s in Town. $58.60 for 4 corona bottles of beer and 2x jugs of coke for the kids. $11.50 for 2 little bits of sesame toast and every dish cost around the $25 or more. Disgusting how they charge so much more money to eat there instead of takeaways and you get less food. So much for trying to support local business. Wont be back! 👎🏽

My wife and I had lunch here on a Tuesday. It wasn't that busy which is what you would expect for a Tuesday but we were both very impressed with service and food. Large serves which required a doggy bag to take back to the Caravan, at a price commensurate with normal WA prices, which are inflated compared to the Eastern States. Probably one of the best Chinese experiences we have had.

Golden Orient- 5 star food and service

My partner and I had dinner here, a few nights ago and were blown away about how amazing the service was. I have food allergies and was very looked after by the waitress who served us, to ensure I was able to pick gluten free options. The food was very clean and tasty and we were not “upsold” when we nearly ordered more than we could eat (the waitress told us that we already had plenty of food). We will definitely be back.

Busy with locals which is always a good sign

Chinese style cooking is my preferred dining experience. I was very impressed therefore with the quality of the meal options that we had here. The braised mixed seafood was very good as was the bbq pork slices with vegetables. Exceptional fried rice too. Yes the deep fried dumplings are a bit too mini chiko roll like to recommend Pleasant efficient service at all levels. Busy with locals both for dine in a lots of take-aways. Prices are highish (including for base beers etc) but Esperance is a long way from anywhere. Serving sizes were largish though. Tasty but not over-spiced food and with a better mixture of vegetables than most similar country town venues. The other Chinese restaurant in town never appeared to have much evening cliental over the nights we drove past it.

Poor value for money

Ok, we are in the country and expect higher prices , however this was extremely poor. Starter of 3 spring roles was very tiny for the money. Fried rice was burned and very dry, chef‘s lemon prawns were just fried prawns with lots of crumbs and a slice of lemon, just disappointing overall. Pork dish tasty however most likely result from high amount of msg.

Great food.

Excellent sweet and sour chicken and Cantonese beef. Spring rolls were a little over done, and our choice of wine from the menu was not available. Servers could have been a little more “smiley”, even though they were friendly enough. Throughly enjoyed the food though.

Awkward

What a awkward experience, staff beyond weird, or rude? A mask wearing staff member took our order with a head nod, pointed to the price. No speech. My 9yo even commented on how awkward it/she was. Strange when your 9yo daughter has 10x the personality of the staff.

Great local Chinese food

We wanted dinner on Sunday in Esperance & this place seemed to be one of the few that was open. The place is without a doubt the cleanest, tidiest local Chinese place I have ever eaten at. The food was extremely tasty, the service was prompt & the staff were again really helpful & pleasant (we found this to be the case everywhere in Esperance) . Great small local Chinese restaurant.

Fantastic food

We had the combination fried rice and beef and black bean along with fried duck with plum sauce. The rice was a symphony of flavour with lots of prawns. Taste was sensational. The beef and duck was fantastic. Anyone who bags this place is nuts. I have travelled the world many times and this is as good as anywhere. Yes it’s a bit priced but two mains a combo rice and two wines under $80 highly recommend

Rip Of and Disgusting

$104 for half filled dishes that were disgusting. They have upped there prices by $2 a dish and dropped there quality by a mile. No more prawn chips with your big orders and long waits. They should be ashamed selling that crap. Never Again!!
