Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Service and food were exceptional, and great value.
Three of our party of 8 had the 'Feed Us' set menu, but due to COVID the chef mixed it up a bit and sent out 6-7 different share plates from the To Share Menu and still only charged us $35ph - all amazing! Others in the party had individual plates (Chicken Curry, Chicken Wings, Spring Rolls, Burger and Hoisin Noodles) and they were all fantastic meals and great value. A couple of bottles of the Xanadu Shiraz and a great night had by all (within the COVID 2 hour limit). Will definitely revisit Dr Mauve when next in Bright.

Four of us had a great evening at Dr Mauve - we ate the tasting menu which is outstanding value at $35 per head (so much quality food including dessert) and excellent flavours and range of dishes. Asian style tapas / shared plates - they also do larger dishes which we didn't try. Highlights were the salmon and yuzu carpaccio, dumplings, bao and the fried cauliflower. All well above our expectations, well presented, friendly staff and service (thanks in particular to Jake!). The cocktails were great too - as good as a cocktail bar in Melbourne. Well done Dr Mauve, we'll be back!

The former Tani is relaunched (again), and this time very positively. A young, enthusiastic crew serving imaginative and full-flavoured dishes, in a sharing-oriented format. Make sure you go for the great value "feed me" menu & let them take the reins. Small winelist, but well-priced and with some decent choices. A fun night out with friends.

We loved this little gem in Bright. We had all sorts of food allergies to accommodate and they didn’t make us feel awkward and were happy to check with the chef and were flexible with changes. Mostly shared meals with extremely generous servings. We were really happy with our overall experience. Kids loved it to :)

If you manage to get to beautiful Bright, this is the best place in town for a magnificent lunch or dinner! Food and service was flawless and just a small tip, you must try the fried chicken 🍗 Take time to introduce yourself to Jake who is a wealth of knowledge and nothing is to much trouble for him. By the way, they have great beers 🍺 on tap. See you guys soon 😁

Tried this place when on vacation in Bright, menu looked tasty but sadly didn't not deliver. Despite a request for a proper table seating when booking we ended up with lounge chairs and a low table. We had 4 of the share plates between us which arrived at random times and the last course arrived over an hour after we arrived and was not worth the wait. We got the feeling it had been forgetten, how long does it really take to make baos! Food was average at best, lacking typical Asian flavours which you would have expected and is overpriced. Service is dreadful.

We had a wonderful evening at this beautiful place. The service was superb and the food was delicious. We especially enjoyed sharing the calamari, crispy chicken, fries and the spicy edamame. We highly recommend anyone visiting Bright books this place in advance; you will NOT be disappointed.

Dining at Dr Mauve was a top notch experience. They’ve ticked all the boxes from a warm welcome to the food experience.
Starting with cocktails was a good idea and we had good fun reading the out of the ordinary cocktail list. The Margarita as well as the Martini expresso were two hits.
We then opted for the “Feed me” menu at $35pp which was good value for money.
Out of the many dishes landed on table the ones to remember were the deep-fried cauliflower and the deep-fried chicken, the prawn dumplings and the slow cooked ginger beef brisket.
Our only regret is that they are closed on Wednesday and we won’t be able to come back … never mind, we’ll book ahead of our next visit in Bright.
Needless to say we HIGHLY recommend!

Super friendly staff and lovely tapas style menu designed to share dishes.
Sticky cauliflower was our favorite. Unfortunately the pork spare ribs was a let down as we were served fatty pork belly with not a rib in sight. Cocktails and wine choices were excellent.

Service and food is 10/10! We had a table of 6 and the staff were so helpful in working out the right amount of share plates for our group, and then they timed the coming out of the dishes perfectly. Food was absolutely delicious and the quality was incredible, we finished every little bit on our plates. Would 100% recommend to anyone coming to Bright!

This bar/restaurant is well reviewed but our dinner experience was remarkably disappointing. Despite our booking and our arriving on time, our table was not ready for some time -- the staff doing quite a neat job of apologising and offering another place to sit. Needing GF food for one member of the group of four, we had only a small number of dishes to choose from. The stir fry chicken with noodles seemed a good option. When it came, we found it was absolutely tasteless and effectively inedible. To her credit, the young woman serving us brought an array of sauces to add flavour, rendering the dish edible. She did, however, offer no apology. We were forced to wonder what kind of chef/cook sends out a dish without tasting it?

So excited to finally get back to Bright for the June Long Weekend, My Birthday and to get back to our fave eating spot with Family.
Was so great to see all of the team again super upbeat after a rough 6 months for Bright. The Food was awesome - we chose the Per Head option where the team just kept bringing the food and the cocktails were amazing as always - despite only being able to be there for 1.5hrs they made it count and we left full, happy and with takeaway espresso martinis to top the night off.

Took over an hour to get the food after we ordered and it wasn't that busy. My 8 year old daughter was starving so we had to buy a pie from elsewhere for her to eat. Her meal ended up coming after all the adult meals were served even we asked for her burger and chips to come first. Food was average and the selection was the same as what was available at Tomohawks and other similar restaurants. Very average.

Drinks are amazing, barman made a non-alcoholic cocktail with ginger especially for me when I asked. One of the best cocktails I've ever tasted. Dinner was delicous! Small menu but still loads of choice and EVERYTHING was done well. Salmon tom yum was so tasty, one of the best dishes I've had all year. Staff were friendly, helpful and catered for food allergies. Female waitress was especially amazing, soo helpful and friendly.

So 12 months after our first visit, we were back as promised. The waiter (Jack) not only remembered me but pretty much recalled what I'd had to eat, and came to say goodbye when he knocked off. We had a wonderful long evening, enjoying the food, venue and the company of other guests and the host as we watched the Fire Fight concert on the big screen. Thanks guys! See you next year.
