Great dining experience loads of choices. Beautifully cooked and presented! Much more than a pub meal, and friendly staff to help make the night memorable.

Disappointed a highly rated restaurant was not open each time we checked to have a meal. Reviews were great , maybe next visit to Ararat we will be luckier.

Just arrived in Ararat. I don't necessarily read reviews at this site before I enter a restaurant. Important to be open minded. In this case I did, however I read the menu on The Blue Ducks Website. Looking for Lamb. Went and the chops were Excellent! Along with the salat and with cheese platter with fresh strawberries as dessert, Yummy!... More

We decided to try the Blue Duck on the recommendation of our motel, the Southern Cross Motor Inn. I had the duck shanks and mash, my wife had the pumpkin salad with chicken. Both dishes were extraordinarily good. Home cooking from a family run operation. The best meal we've had in 4 1/2 weeks in Australia. You won't regret giving... More

Always have had great meals here - Their beer battered fish is fantastic and anything on the menu with lamb it is done just sooo well! Have been there for many group meals and everyone - including vegetarians, is always very happy with what is served to them.. They have a good selection of local wines as well and service... More

The Blue Duck Hotel is a great place to eat. It offers a great variety of food at reasonable price. The friendly staff are very helpful and work extremely hard. It's a must if you are in the area.

Has more ambience than most restaurants in the area. Staff are attentive. Food is a bit expensive ( especially since you order at the bar) but it is delicious.

We were recommended this hotel for dinner by the operator of the motel we were staying at. It is a good place for a decent meal. We ordered the Chicken Delight and the Greek Lamb Skewers, both of which arrived in a timely manner and were delicious. Service was friendly.

The experience at this pub led me to join trip advisor. Don't bother here! You get what you're given! Got our order wrong, steak, veggies and chips (not hard) no chips arrived though the potato would do. Hell no hard as! No taste in veggies and pepper sauce and 40% of the meat was fat. Tried to tell someone from... More

Driving from Melbourne to Adelaide we were searching for a kid friendly pub for a quality counter meal. Trip Advisor doesn't let us down and we chose The Blue Duck in Ararat. The kids enjoyed Calamari and Chips, Kids Parmy and Nuggets, whilst the Adults had the Chicken Souvlaki and Chicken Schnitzel with gravy chips and salad. Big meals. One... More
