My wife and I decided on having a small wedding in the Barossa Valley; 1918 was recommended to us as a great venue to share a ceremony dinner with family. We spoke with Sid upon first meeting and were both extremely happy with his hospitality....He offered us the private room inside the restaurant and had the entire menu as our option for ordering meals. On the night of our wedding the service was 5 star and everyone was delighted with their mains. All sides and entrees were equally as satisfying and the total price was more than fair for the exceeding high standard. The private room created a great atmosphere for the night and would highly recommend this experience to anyone wanting to celebrate a small gathering of 14 or so people.More

Quite charming and good basic food. Wine service was rudimentary and a bit slow but didn’t detract too much. A good place to get a decent feed with reasonable value for money. Could do with a little freshen up of the wine list though.

We had a lovely lunch here for my birthday on a Thursday so the restaurant was reasonably quiet. The staff are very friendly and it feels like you are dining in someone's home with a pretty garden view from the windows. The menu isn't huge...but the choices are varied and interesting as is the wine list.More

We went as a couple on a Monday night, service and food was excellent. It was our favourite place for dinner in the Barossa Valley.

Steak was tough and over all food average. Ambience lovely but service was so so! Disappointing after looking forward to the experience!

Had a lovely evening here. We mentioned that it was our anniversary so the staff had placed a rose petal love heart and candle on our table. The atmosphere is very romantic; we were seated outside under the fairy lights in the beautiful garden. The...food is well presented and flavourful, the staff attentive without being overbearing. They also have a great drinks list with plenty of options for everyone. Truly a excellent venue.More

Here for dinner. The surroundings are fantastic, the staff attentive and the food tasty, but still only rated an Average. For entrée we shared a Stuffed Mushroom which was very tasty. I had the Spicy Thai green Curry with prawns which was tasty. This was...served in a shallow bowl with allot of juice, but it seems the noodles portion could only be described as modest. The noddles, literally without exaggeration, would have been 2 - 3 mouthfuls worth. The rest of the dish was a piece of tofu and 6 prawns. The prawns were an extra so if I had of decided to go with just the tofu then the dish would have been small entrée size, as it was it wasn't enough for a main dish. Shame as the juice was tasty enough but I had to get a extra serve of bread to soak up the juice and fill me up. My partner had the Wine makers Platter which looked nice and which had very nice inclusions. Luckily she isn't a big eater so I was able to share in some of her platter. We finished off with a Brulee and a Cocktail dessert which were both nice. In addition to my meal been under sized, the service was very slow. The wait servers where fine but it took 1 hour for our entrée to arrive and then another 45 - 50 minutes for mains to arrive. This was a Tuesday night and the restaurant was about 50- 60 % full, but according to the waiter the chef had only expected 16 diners but there where 42 people and had been caught out). The long wait and the poor portion size of my main really put a dampener on the evening.More
