Great Schnitzel

Stopped in on a Friday before the bistro 6pm opening time. they were plating meals by 5.45! Wonderful service. The schnitzel was fresh, juicy and the best mushroom sauce...really yum and such great value

Uncooked Steak

At $38 for an undercooked, chewy steak + $3 extra for gravox mushroom sauce, disappointed is an understatement. The vege, salad & chat potatoes were delicious. But it did not make up for blue steak and ordinary gravy. Staff are lovely. Wine is reasonably priced. Super disappointed considering dinner for 3 cost over $165.

Not the best dining experience I've had

One bad meal and poor service can ruin a might out. We had dinner here with a large group of family and friends. First problem was that there wasn't enough seats for the number of people we booked for. Next was lack of staff to take our orders at the bar - one staff member to serve both the bar and take food orders. My partner and I both ordered the crispy pork belly with Asian slaw and fries. No fries came with the meal. The pork was over salted, and the dressing on the slaw far too salty. A couple of friends at the table didn't get their meal. We we crowded together on the tables - I wasn't comfortable being so squeezed in with other people. The venue could have done a whole lot better.

The service was fantastic. We were a party of 11 and wanted an early dinner before a school event. All meals were served within fantastic time and everything was fantastic. My husband said the Roast beef (a special of the day) was so tender and the roast potatoes were great.

Great Restaurant at Tanunda Hotel!

We didn’t stay at the hotel but ate in their restaurant - it was excellent. We walked in without a booking and no expectations whatsoever but left extremely satisfied and happy! All seven of us enjoyed marvellous meals, the staff were brilliant, the kitchen was very quick considering the number of meals they were dealing with. Our son in law said he’d eaten the best steak he’d had in years - and he eats steak at least twice a week! I’d very happily recommend this restaurant to anyone, it was a really good experience.

Lovely dinner very happy

5 Adults 2 children, children's meals delivered first, 5 minutes later all adult meals served. Steak superb; cooked perfectly very tender large serve, pork belly amazing; again large serve but very tasty and cooked perfectly. Drinks were in schooner glasses so quite large for a meal. Wine list didn't have a merlot and nothing else of interest. Very attentive staff. Nice setting. Thanks we will return

Great port ribs

We went there specifically for pork ribs for dinner and were not disappointed. Healthy sized serving with crispy wedge ships. We requested the sauce on the side which was a good idea as one could put it on the ribs as one wished to. We would definitely go back there. Good value and friendly service.

We had Dinner on two occasions at this location. First visit was Wedges with Sour Cream and Chilli Sauce, Chicken Schnitzel, Eggplant Schnitzel. The second visit was Pork Loin Schnitzel and Salt and Pepper Squid. This was pub food and both times where satisfied with the meals.

Don’t judge a book by its cover

Nothing fancy here but the service and food were excellent. We were greeted as soon as we walked in. Shown to the dining areas. A waitress came over to check on us and to confirm we knew where to order. Bread rolls and butter then came out. We ordered chicken schnitzel which was cooked perfectly .., so many places over cook there snittys and end up being dry. With a choice of salad or veggies we opted for the veggies which were also cooked perfectly. Chicken stir fry x 2 which was a very large serve and very tasty. Our other family member had the fish which again was a big peice. We all came away feeling very satisfied. Yes we will be back.

Excellent pub meals!

While the menu seemed to offer the ‘usual’ pub fare of steaks, schnitzels and fish, there were a few additions that made us choose this eatery over others. One was the pork ribs, which my husband ordered - and which I had to try! The marinade was deliciously tasty and the meat cooked perfectly. Our compliments to the chef. I rarely eat steaks while out, as invariably I find I can cook them better at home, but my scotch fillet was correctly cooked - medium - as well as also being tasty. Accompanied by mashed potato, broccolini and whole small carrots, (the carrots were too hard), the overall presentation of both our meals was spot on. The meals were delivered in good time by a cheerful waitress and though the ambience was basic ‘pub dining room’, the food was far better. From our experience,Tanunda Hotel is a place to enjoy an excellent meal.

We have been twice, excellent service, clean and relaxing. We ordered Scotch fillets and both were orgasmic, to perfection of what we order and very quick and salads and chips to die for. Very relaxed front bar, nice company and service was great.

Great meals and service

We found ourselves with very few options on the Sunday of the Long Weekend and ended up at the Tanunda Hotel. We have very low expectations but had amazing meals and service, especially from Jaime. The haloumi & mushroom burgers, the salt & pepper squid and special pasta were all really tasty and very generous portions. The kids loved their meals and the ice-cream at the end. We had such a great experience that we went back Monday night and weren't disappointed.

Good Pub food, It is under repairs at the moment so outside dinning is unavailable. There is a pempory Kitchen set up during the repairs and this makes it extremely hard on the Personel. But they are doing their best and this makes up for the inconvenience. Worth a visit for a great pub meal.

Massive meal not easy to tackle

This friendly old country pub has made recent extensions to inside, where we ate, and outside dining areas. My wife was happy with her Caesar salad. My massive meal of BBQ pork ribs wasn’t easy to tackle. Also gravy on the ribs cascaded on to my chips and made them soggy. I probably should have made a better choice.

Cracking Good Meal

Stopped here on the way back from the Riverland. On the main road through Tanunda with a number of other eating options around. The area wasn't pleasant, open and comfy. The food was really good. Pub food with some variations and regular specials. Able to cater for gluten free requirements with ease. Servings are not too big nor too small...just right.
