Yes we do! The standard menu did not mention which dishes were gluten free so I asked. On a separate page all dietary requirements were listed. And at the bottom it said to let the staff know if you are coeliac. How good is that?...The meal was delicious! I ate the prettiest dish of spatchcock with BBQ corn. My husband ate a beautifully cooked Angus eye fillet. We shared a tasting plate of three desserts, once again carefully assembled for me, a coeliac. Thank you Char Barossa.More
Decided at last minute to try Char in Tanuda - The restaurant was really busy 150+ covers with tables 20+ guests. Not a problem, service was great and the food was excellent. My only small gripe - bigger portion of chips. Definitely worth a visit.
What a great place to finish my birthday weekend in the Barossa. We tried a range of starters/entrees and finished with the rib eye steaks. All the food was incredible. The only think I would change would be to add a cheeky cocktail list on...the drinks menu. Will be highly recommending this place to anyone coming to visit the Barossa region.More
Thought we’d give Char a go for the first time and we were so glad we did.
Really friendly staff (thanks Kiwi) who know their stuff.
The food available was varied and interesting with a range of yummy starters, small plates and mains and they’re...byo.
The wagyu burger has got to be up there with the best burgers I’ve ever had.
Would recommend Char every time.
When you are looking forward to going somewhere because of location & reviews, all it takes is one idiot to stuff it up!
Had a reservation for 6pm with friends. Had a long drive and was busting to go to toilet. At 5.50pm the front...door was closed and I spotted someone inside. I waved them down and when HE came to the front door, I explained my situation, he basically told me that they were closed and there were public toilets across the road. Im sorry but I dont care what time it was, if I am about to dine and spend money at your restaurant the least you could have said was we're not open yet but the toilets are this way & I would have done my business then went back outside & waited with my friends until you opened the door. That one act of rudeness will never bring us back again. I have to say though that the food was delicious & wait staff were friendly.More
Dined here on a Saturday evening with friends who live locally
We had the twice baked soufflé for an entree and really enjoyed it.
The highlight for my wife and I however was the slow cooked beef rib— the meat was so tender it fell...apart and the accompanying vegetables complemented it well. Not a large serve but more than adequate for each of us.Our friends chose differently but also thoroughly enjoyed their dishes.
We finished with panna cotta which was excellent— all food was beautifully presented.
I can’t comment on the wine list as my friend brought some BYO which perfectly complemented the food.
The place is not cheap but I guess you need to be prepared to pay for quality.
We were served by the owner— a cheerful chap who knew his trade and seemed to know most people in the place
