Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Excellent chunky beef pies with good pastry. Full of meat and no plumped up with gravy. Their Berliners were delicious too.

Sensational Sour Dough, Anzac Cookies and pies. Best bakery in the Barossa by a mile. The German Cake is something you must try as well.

Great history behind this great little bakery. Wonderful staff again! The best pies ever, the taste is just awesome, I reckon it's got something to do with the old oven.

Nice service. We bought a fruit sourdough here and it was absolutely delicious. We’ll be back to buy more before we leave to return home.

I bought a pasty which was a good size and very tasty and filling. I love buying a Vanilla Slice and usually difficult to cut, but this one was the exception where I could cut it into smaller pieces and sit back and enjoy very...much with a cuppa in hand!More

All the cafes we visited in Tanunda used bread from here. Good selection of loaves, sourdough, ciabatta. Smaller range of sweeter options, but the bread is king here. Friendly service, and worth a visit to stock up

Beautiful day and we took a stroll down the main street in the sunshine. Stopped at some benches and we had bought a sausage roll and a pastie from the bakery. Ate them there and then. Delicious, warm and memorable. We'll be back to enjoy...again.More

Have been enjoying their pies, bread and other goods for decades. But, becoming quite expensive for what it is. Easy to overspend in there! Friendly service..not much. Maybe you need to be a local. I think they can smell a tourist. Lol!

Well. There are a handful of items here that might entice you back. The (un)friendly service certainly would not nor the inflated prices. Try the fruit and nut sourdough loaf - if you can afford to.

I travel to the Barossa just for Apex bread. Good old fashioned solid bread give it a go, ditch the commercial soft fluffy nothingness fresh air bread and get back to what bread should be like. Thank you Apex Bakery

Very tasty bakery food, with sausage rolls, pasties and pies all packed with flavour and plenty of filling. The shop itself looks nothing special but you wont be eating inside so that is not a big drama.
