Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Called in late in the afternoon, not long before bakery was closing. Customer service was good, the lady who served us was friendly and chatted as we decided on what we wanted. There was still a reasonable choice of hot food and cakes available. Will stop here again.

Great little bakery! Typical small town bakery with all the standard pie’s, pasties, sausage rolls and a variety of vegetarian and gourmet pies. Good coffee and also make fresh rolls or sandwiches. This bakery is always busy but the manage to get people in and out in a speedy manner so you are never waiting too long for good quality food. They also have a great selection of fresh cakes.

Occasionally when passing we will stop for lunch and they are obviously doing a lot right as there are many people at the bakery. Enjoyed a Cornish pasty and partner a sausage roll. Pastry good in both and very enjoyable. Perhaps a bit too much potato in the pasty and the sausage roll could have had a little more flavour. That said, a tasty lunch.

Arrived after being told previously about the fresh pies, sausage rolls and pasties. Our group purchased several of each and they were great, Fresh, full of flavour, crisp pastry. A welcome relief and brief stopover on a long day trip, Good selection and great flavour in the coffee served. Keep doing what you do.

We have travelled extensively around australia and are always on the look out for a good meat pie. This bakery ticks all the boxes, fast and friendly service, well priced, and the pies are to die for. Great pastry, good gravy, unlike some the level of sweetness and salt is perfect. I think we have just found our most favourite meat pie in all of australia.

Well if I owned this bakery someone would be getting reprimanded on losing me turnover. I went in to buy 2 pies and a sausage roll, because the salad Bar food looked so fresh,a great positive, and they had chicken that looked as though it was freshly cooked on the premises, another positive, I also ordered a chicken and salad sandwich on white bread. I was advised there was no white bread left and I could have wholemeal, which I didn’t want, or a roll, which I didn’t want. However I noticed two loaves of white bread on the shelf to be sold so I said you have 2 loaves up there can’t you use use the white bread up there and they said no that’s for Selling, we have a loaf that we use for sandwiches but that’s finished. I’m sorry it doesn’t seem logical to keep a loaf of bread on a shelf that can be sold for maybe 3 to 4 dollars when you could make 10 sandwiches out of that which you’re charging $8.50 a sandwich for. The shop assistants decision reduced the shop sales by over $80 and put a customer off from returning. Great work. If I hadn’t been so baffled and annoyed, I would’ve thought to buy the loaf of bread for four dollars and asked him to make the sandwich with it … my bad. Also If I wasn’t travelling another 800 km today and I had the spare time, I would’ve walked down to the road to the other bakery and not bought anything off them.

Car park can be accessed from both directions, entering or leaving Port Wakefield. Not eat in as it is a small bakery, but a nice little area with a few tables outside to sit and enjoy your food. Fantastic pies, chock full of filling (they do not skimp on ingredients at all). The service is quick and friendly and the coffee is great. This is another of my go to places while on the road. Always has customers coming and going, which is the sign of a good bakery.

Lovely little bakery to stop off on your drive through Port Waikfeild amongst all the big service stations. Have stopped there a few times, and always happy with the food that we buy. Don’t expect any thing big and flashy but the food is fresh, tasty and the service is always been fast and friendly. Great pasties & cakes

We visited Kipling's Bakery yesterday afternoon. Whilst the cake and coffee was good, the service and staff left a lot to be desired. We felt that the staff were rude, abrupt and unhelpful. We will not be returning any time soon.

Staff were unfriendly and abrupt. Food was good but coffee was average. Would not recommend the stop off. There is room for improvement.

Always tasty pasties and pie, however they have been quite ‘light’ of the filling, seems they don’t want to fill them up. They do taste good but just half filled.
