Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Went to the Vine Inn for a meal. It’s the usual pub suspects on the menu and I decided to try the lamb Rogan Josh with rice, yoghurt and a pappadam. Not your typical pub food and probably should have realised that an Indian restaurant...would be better. However, the presentation was ok, the first mouthful was ok and then the experience changed. A fatty piece of lamb then a grisly bit ruined the meal. I won’t be doing that again and will stick to what pubs generally do best- schnitzel or steak.More

A wonderful spot for lunch. The meals were generous for the price. The food was well presented and delicious. Wide range of meals on the menu. Excellent service by the staff who were friendly, informative and courteous. highly recommend this venue.

“Embarrassment to overseas guests” Very ordinary food - basic, pub, unimaginative. Lamb Korma came out Cold, Australiansed’ to not even resemble Korma! Took home for dog in a takeaway pac. Reordered and paid for fish with mash and veg . Arrived as sloppy 1 fish...piece with mash - no veg! ? Couldn’t be bothered complaining - poor for a top SA tourist destination as the Barossa Valley. Advice - go elsewhere. (Good Bar Service and Floor Staff)More

Smoking tolerated in non-smoking areas. Swearing and obnoxious behaviour tolerated in areas with families and children. Food quality very poor.

I was in nuriootpa for work for 2 weeks and visited the place often for food and drinks. Food is decent, but service has always been terrible. Gary is always grumpy and impatient same with the short hair lady with glasses. She’s just really rude...and great at making people feel uncomfortable. They should not be working in customer service anywhere.More

Went there for dinner with family and it included four kids. Their kids meals are fantastic as it includes the meal, a drink, dessert and an entertainment pack (stickers, colouring in, etc.). The kids meals came our first but the adults meals came out half...an hour later. The food was good and plentiful, just timing was off.More

We were just looking for a nice meal at a reasonable price to end our 5 week road trip in a memorable way. The Vine in was walking distance and the menu was reasonably extensive. Roast of the day (Pork) was moist and veggies good....The beef schnitzel likewise. Prompt service and meals delivered together is always a bonus. Happy to recommend this venue.More

This review is of the accommodation only as we toured the winery’s and ate out. We had the Vine Inn as our base in the Barossa and what a clean, comfortable, quiet and spacious room it was! The bed was really comfortable; there was plenty...of room for luggage and to just spread out after a couple of cramped days in the Clare Valley. The facilities were basic but perfect for us and the bathroom/shower was terrific, a great way to sooth muscles and head after spending the day driving around the beautiful countryside! We really enjoyed a relaxing stay at the Vine Inn - great place to base yourself when touring the many wine regions of the area. Recommended!!!!More

Lunch - braised beef shoulder was fantastic! So tender, the meat fell apart! The sauce & mashed potato were delicious! I would eat that every day if I could! Cheesecake for desert was just as good!

Hello Ormondw, Thanks for your positive feedback. Our Head Chef Gary cooks that cut for 15 hours on around 70 degrees and it always turns out that tender and flavorsome. Glad you enjoyed the other parts of your meal as well. Cheers, Chris Linden CEO

took the wife out for lunch today to celebrate valentines day one day late to avoid the crowds we ordered garlic bread for a starter and it came out absolutely drowning in oil. The oil actually ran all over my shirt and trousers. Not a...good start. For mains we both ordered the seafood trio. With high expectations our meal arrived promptly in hindsight i wish it had not come out at all. first we tried the salt and pepper calamari there was no hint of salt nor pepper it tasted just of raw flour and i should have received a steak knife to cut it. oh well calamari can be a tad tricky to cook especially when not fresh .Next was a skewer of 4 prawns the prawns looked nice they had a slight char and i was eager for some redemption oh well not this time. The prawns were cold and lacked any flavour might as well ate the serviette The third of the trio was described as fish now i am not a fish expert by any means but clearly this fish had not seen water for some time. Again another bland serving most disappointedMore

We have been here at the Vine Inn on several occasions but our latest visit will mean we won't be going back for quite a while. We booked a table for four. We had to request to have a champagne glass changed as it was...dirty. Once our meals came, two of the meals were very poor. One was a beef schnitzel that was badly over cooked. The other a beef salad, which was seriously horrible, so much so most of it was not eaten and we went elsewhere to have her have something decent to eat. The meat tasted off, the beetroot was discoloured and tasted awful. It looked as if it had been opened a week earlier. Upon approaching the staff we were told "uh well hopefully your next time your meal will be better". Not good enough. Thank you Frank Ostendorf.More

5 of us stayed in Nuriootpa for 5 nights at the Vine Court Apartment near the hotel. We ate there several times and had many drinks there. Good service. Food was good but a bit expensive for a hotel.

Ventured up the Barossa for a bay out. Looking for somewhere to have lunch we decided to try The Vines without a booking. Even though the place was packed getting us in was no trouble and staff were fantastic. Meals were delicious and Hugh in...size. Wife had a half snitty which was larger then some of the whole one had at other pubs. If you are looking for a good meal in the area you need to give it a try. Great work team.More
