It’s a lovely venue with a great ambience and nicely matching features eg, Corrugated Orb sheeting is used on the internal roofing and on benches. The vines surrounding the main building look wonderful in season. My wife and I attended for lunch and after ordering were pleasantly surprised at the speed at which our meals arrived. She ordered Drunken Duck and I ordered Salted Squid. Both were well presented, cooked perfectly and most of all tasty. I had a glass of Keis Wine “soft” Shiraz that was a nice wine. The staff were pleasant and efficient . You can do wine tastings and buy a range of Knick-knack products like a mug with your favourite dog adorning it.

We stopped here for lunch at the start of a few days break in the Barossa and were pleased we did. We didn't want the full on heavy duty lunch that is available in a number of places in the Barossa but we didn't want to sit in a bakery with a pastie either. The meal was perfect for the middle of the day with the food being fresh and nicely presented. The service was spot on, cheerful, efficient and very helpful when our verandah table started to get wet from a deluge. Add to this a beautiful glass of Riesling and the whole experience was most enjoyable.

We sat by the window in their nice dining room to read the brief menu with food on the front page for all including kids, vegos and vegans. Wine was on the back page. We were more than happy with our delicious Barossa Gourmet Platter for two and the blood plum red Klauber Block Shiraz. Costs are reasonable and they were friendly and pretty quick.

If you’re wondering where to go for a cellar door (Kies Family Wines) with great food (and not just the usual platters), this is the place! It’s very family friendly with plenty of room inside for groups. On one occasion, my friend and I brought our own picnic blanket and sat with our bubs and a glass of wine out on the grass. The staff are attentive and very friendly. Definitely check this place out if you’re near Lyndoch!

Soooo grateful for the team here that went over and above to help us out. A group of 9, finding themselves caught out for breakfast before hitting the road home. Noticed cars at the Monkey Nut Cafe, and thought they were open. Was actually the employees cars, gearing up for the day ahead. They opened for us, offered their staple - bacon & egg roll - and fresh coffees. Called their waiter and cook in early (sorry guys - missed out on your Sunday sleep-in) who served us in good humour and smiles. We left them with many thanks and full tummies for the 5hr drive home.

The service was excellent, staff attended the tables and there was no need to go to the counter. Staff were efficient and went out of their way to make sure our dining experience was fabulous. The food was delicious and there was a great range of gluten free food for one of our family members.

Had lunch at Monkey Nut cafe 2 weeks ago. It was a rainy day so it was a wonderful way to enjoy ourselves indoors. The delicious platter we shared with wine was superb along with the friendly and very efficient staff made this an unforgettable experience. If you haven’t been here before, please do visit. You won’t be disappointed. Bev W.

There are many great wining and dining places in the Barossa Valley, but Monkey Nut Cafe' would have to be my favorite. Great friendly service, beautiful food, exquisite wine and stunning views of the country side.

Attended High Tea with my Mum for her Birthday The setting was amazing, almost forgot we were in the processing plant, very well done… great place for a first date or for a special occasion, the food was so good, great showcase of the local produce, the lamb mini pies were so delicious🤤 Great selection of bubbles and prices from the cellar door were very reasonable Best part was the young lady singing and playing guitar, just made the whole experience so much more Well done, will definitely be back Only down side is the high tea is only on once a month…
