Henry & Rose Cafe is a licensed venue offering alfresco or indoor dining in a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. Our focus is to serve fresh, seasonal and flavorsome food, together with premium coffee and local wines. Situated on the service road in Keith South Australia adjacent to the Adelaide to Melbourne (Dukes Highway) and opposite the 'circle work' water feature, Henry & Rose is a must on your journey to relax, enjoy and be revitalised with fresh food and great coffee.

Busy cafe with great menu and good service, although counter area was congested. Gift shop is very nice too, and enticing to look around while you wait for your order.
We finished our meal with an ice cream cone-ice cream was lovely, but serving size was very ungenerous!

This superb cafe is well worth a stop on the journey between Adelaide and the SE of South Australia or Melbourne. Our brunch was perfect (Eggs Benedict), as was the coffee. Add in the light, airy and modern decor, a pleasant courtyard area and the shop that sells interesting decor and gift items, and you have a clever package of style and quirkiness. The staff were friendly and efficient.

What began as a quick coffee meeting ended up as a late breakfast meeting at this remarkable licensed cafe in Keith SA.
The breakfast menu was so enticing with a wide variety that offered something for our combined eclectic tastes and lifestyle preferences. Topped off with great coffee in a lovely environment complete with an open fire on a cold winters day. The staff were very friendly, very helpful as they answered our questions about the locality and the broader wine region on which the town borders. The wines they had on offer were priced well, as was their menu, but no compromise on quality.

Stopped off for lunch. Yes maybe a trendy little place for in the middle of nowhere but the food is very average. We had the eggs on sourdough with salmon.
The sourdough would have to have been the day befores. So dry and hard impossible to cut. The eggs overdone not runny at all. The butter so hot it ran out of the packet when opened
The bacon my husband had cooked to a crisp...so dry and hard.
The long black coffee no crema at all and the hot chocolate not mixed through so lumps of chocolate in it. Plus the meals were luke warm.
Dont mind paying these prices for food well presented but maybe lower them if you want to dish up this kind of food.
Had we not have travelled so far and been so hungry the lot would have been returned.
To top it off served by a grey haired grumpy lady.
Nothing much on offer in the town so if you call in hope you have better luck than we did. Plus a cue to wait in for 15min before ordering and 45 min. wait which was disappointing at the end
$34 so not cheap for the quality of food

Food was cold when bought to the table.
My meal had to sent back to be reheated as it was inedible. My husbands eggs were burnt
Both our meals meal were tasteless
We had to wait for crockery, request salt and pepper. No sugar was provided with coffees.
Maybe a little competition would improve the standard

Called in for lunch whilst travelling for work. No obvious vegan option apart from the obligatory salad. I then spot a chicken burger on brioche with sweet potatoe fries - vegan option available 👍 The conversation when ordering went like this;
Me: hey I would like the chicken burger and sweet potato fries but the vegan option please.
H&S: okay
Me: so is this a vegan patty?
H&S: no, we just remove the chicken
Me: so what about the cheese?
H&S: we remove that too
Me: And the coleslaw dressing?
H&S: yes we remove that.
Me: So the vegan alternative is a bun and fries?
H&S: Well yes.
I couldn't believe it. They would have no doubt charged me the full price and I bet the brioche wasn't vegan either!
This is not a 'vegan option'. Don't say you do a vegan option if you don't!
The coffee was great but if you're looking for a vegan feed look elsewhere.

We stopped here for lunch and ordered a chicken burger, a kid's pizza and a spinach omelette. The nicest thing we could say about the chicken burger and kid's pizza is that they were pretty average and we wouldn't order them again, but the spinach omelette was truly awful. It tasted and looked like it was made with powdered eggs and cooked in the microwave - we can't even work out what could have gone wrong in the kitchen to create such an inedible meal (that cost $18!). Give this cafe a miss and head to the bakery instead.

We had breakfast here and unfortunately it was stone cold. Cold eggs and bacon. We spoke to a staff member who said she would inform the kitchen staff. She never returned to offer an apology or to replace/ reheat the meal. I repeat. These meals were STONE COLD. Eventually a school aged waitress who overheard our conversation with the other staff member offered to take them back and reheat. The lack of concern regarding the serving cold meals is very disappointing.

We departed Adelaide Sat 29 Feb for Mt Gambier - and at about lunchtime I googled places to eat. Had imagined a pie and coke at a highway cafe if we were lucky. This popped up - we had to drive 5 mins further past our turnoff. What a find ... lovely garden, cafe, gift shop, superb food. Friendly staff. It was probably the best cafe we visited in all of Adelaide, Melbourne and on the way in between. Make it a "go to" destination. Well worth it.

Was firstly charmed by the atmosphere and decoration.
The person who took my order seemed a little too slow at taking orders.
Ordered eggs my way, toast was cold.
My friend got accused of not ordering hash browns with her eggs by a server...when she distinctly remembered ordering them.
The person who took the order barged over and accused her “you didn’t order that! I took your order. You didn’t order it!”
This wouldn’t be the typical response. Rude and disrespectful.
Will not visit again.

We decided to breakup our road trip with lunch in Keith and what a great find this cafe was! Friendly service, good coffee and really inspired, delicious, perfectly cooked and beautifully presented lunches. There’s a small adjacent gift shop area to browse through with good quality stock. Well done to the hard working team at Henry + Rose!

On a road trip from Adelaide to Bendigo Keith was a good point to stop for lunch. We had been to the Henry and Rose previously and it was as a good as last time, although our coffees could have been hotter. Our lunch was presented quickly and we both really enjoyed our choices. Satisfied with our choices we were quickly back on the road.

Don’t bother! Ordered using the app. They still managed to forget half the order, even after being told the food was on its way! Three staff waiting behind the counter couldn’t be bothered to serve anyone. Glad there are other places to get food and gifts in Keith.

Great coffee (almond milk) and the yummiest home made raspberry and white chocolate muffin. The gift shop that is attached to the cafe has a large range of cool stuff from socks to bags to scarves to jewellery. Every time I’ve visited I’ve always purchased multiple things.

It’s number 1 for a reason. We stopped here for delicious coffees whilst doing border control for SAPOL and on last day we went for breakfast!! Wow, the nicest breakfast I’ve had in a long time. The Henry and rose breakfast bowl!!
Lucy the owner runs a great cafe that has a lovely ambience both inside and out. Not only the food is great but the gift shop is amazing too. Lucy made us feel so special giving us brownies and muffins for our services. So lovely to feel so welcome and appreciated. Will be back
