I had a really nice lunch, with an authentic Italian pizza and an amazing dessert...congratulations to the kitchen team :)
Plus the waiters were both very professional and friendly.
I will definitely be back as soon as I can :)
The heading says it all. Had Monday lunch and wine tasting here. Really enjoyed the pizzas that were quite light and washed down with a decent Merlot. Lady who served us was friendly and informative. A good spot to stop.
The prawn roll appetiser - just incredible. Sadly it takes only about four seconds to ingest $9 worth but it’s a great little treat to kick off the meal, which for us was a pizza for one of us and then a zucchini starter with...a carrot side dish for me. I’m not vegetarian but I’m so impressed by how satisfying and flavoursome these two dishes were. The pizza on the other hand was ordered with extra chilli and it still was a little reserved with its ‘kick’.
We were glad to have made it to Fodder. We’d wanted to go in Monday for lunch on the public holiday but when we tried to book we found, like basically every other place in the region, they were going to be closed. Luckily we were able to change plans to make it to Coonawarra several hours earlier on Sunday than we’d imagined we could. Really not sure why food places in the region aren’t capitalising on people wanting to be fed on the holiday!!!!
The let down for us was having to use the council’s loos attached to the park. This seemed amazing. Why doesn’t the restaurant have its own or at least take ownership of these council ones and make them presentable and acceptable. It’s weird.More
Our lunch finished 7 hours ago and we are still talking about it. We stumbled across this little gem and as we had not pre booked (which I think is common courtesy no matter if you’re a couple or a group of 10), I didn’t...expect to get a table. We were delighted that a table was spare. Paul and Bec were amazing. Paul took us through a fabulous and authentic wine tasting and then the pizzas came out. Oh my goodness - the Seasonal was a taste explosion and the in-house made sourdough base, simply sensational. Bec was so sweet and she finished our experience with fabulous coffee. Our expectations were exceeded- we will be going back soon!More
