Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We highly recommend a visit to this beautiful garden setting for great coffee & the best berry muffins in the Clare Valley! The staff are always delightful & super friendly. They have a choice of breakfast rolls, granola bowls. toasties & also cooked breakfasts on...weekends. Wines are available for purchase/ take away if the cellar door is closed. The established garden is tranquil with shady trees, flowering shrubs & peaceful water features. Family & pet friendly.More

Velvet and Willow is one of the hidden gems of the Clare Valley. Their morning coffees and breakfast in the cafe were fabulous and a wonderful way to begin your day. The wine tastings in their Cellar Door featured their excellent wines and paired nicely...with their cheese platter. The beautiful gardens are a wonderful retreat for the mind, body, and soul and a perfect place to relax with your wine or coffee. Their wines are fantastic, especially the newly released 2023 Watervale Riesling. And if you are looking for overnight accommodations, their adjacent Dennis Cottage was warm, clean and cozy.More

The coffee in this cafe housed in converted grocery store built in 1855 is terrific, and afterwards we really enjoyed exploring the heritage gardens behind the property!

Velvet and Willow opens early 7 days a week for that morning coffee- and it won’t disappoint. Whether you grab a takeaway to keep on moving - or sit out in the garden, out the front or inside the gorgeous stone building — you’ll definitely...find another reason to come back. The food range is simple and delicious. It’s made fresh daily - and caters for everyone. The service here is always welcoming and friendly - lovely to see the staff and locals chatting with visitors and tourists. V&W is also really pet friendly - with water bowls out to give your furry friends a drink! Big shout out to Cass, Laura🖤, Michelle, Zia, Grace, CJ (he’s handsome!!) and Tegan for always making my VW visit a great one!!More

Mid-point on our recent trip from Adelaide to the Clare Valley was Velvet and Willow Pantry for morning coffee located in a historical house built in 1855 as part of the Velvet and WIllow cellar door. We thoroughly enjoyed coffee and a freshly baked muffin...in the air-conditioning of the cafe before venturing out to explore the paved courtyard with further tables and chairs. Beyond is the most delightful landscaped garden known as the Henry Wylie Heritage Garden 1855 after the original owner of the property. Allow a little time to explore the garden for inspirational gardening ideas.More
