We booked in advance and arrived for lunch on Saturday just gone. The dining room was at capacity but well spaced tables created an inviting atmosphere. We started with the crumbed olives and fried pigs ears & bbq sauce. The olives were delicious and the finely shredded fried pigs ears were a revelation; what brilliant, delicious creation. We shared numerous plates and it was impossible to say which was the best. They were all outstanding. A special mention for the Scallop Pie, the Blue Swimmer Crab, the whole King George Whiting and the Scotch Fillet. It is quite clear that the chef has access to fresh seafood and quality vegetables & salads. The wine list has to be seen to be believed. It is an assortment of the best from the Barossa and the best from other parts of the world. It is carefully thought out, well priced and includes wines that are incredibly sought after. The staff, headed up by Rami, were professional, courteous, gave us space, but were always there when needed. This restaurant is not only high on my list in Australia, but world class. It was the highlight of our trip to the Barossa. Well done team Vintner. We'll be back soon. Thank you. Doug

Vintner's continues to be one of the greatest places to eat in the Barossa Valley. While some places have come and gone over the years, this place is consistently awarded and admired by all who walk through their door. Food made with passion and intrigue, a wine list truly worthy of the region it belongs to, staff that truly care and go out of their way to make sure you are well looked after - and an ambience that it so soft, warm, sophisticated and welcoming - and not cluttered or glary and cold. You cannot miss this place as a visitor to the Barossa Valley and the popularity with so many locals also speaks to their success.

Two adults and one teenager dined here on a Thursday evening. We had two significant locals - a winemaker and a shop owner sell it well - so had high expectations. Service was good, the wine list extensive. Local wine by the glass was limited in options. I could also not get my head around the somewhat vast European wine list in the centre of one of the best wine regions in Australia! As an Australian who also holds British citizenship, I think that the wines here are vastly superior. No further comment. Food is good - I enjoyed a perfectly cooked medium rare Scotch fillet and my wife liked her hand rolled pasta dish. However, my 13 year old chose goat curry (to our surprise) and found it very tender. Desserts and starters are excellent.

We had lunch for my wifes 50th birthday with our family - 8 people - which was barely recognised by the staff even with massive balloons on the table...Food was lovely but we waited over 1.5 hours for mains with no real explanation or apology, very disappointing given how much we spent..and knowing we were on an organised tour which was impacted due to the delays. Great place but very poor service.

We dined on a Tuesday night, the restaurant was quite busy, but there were three wait staff in the restaurant. They were very slow in collecting plates. Each dirty course plate was left uncollected for ages. The main was sat there for 20 minutes and we had to ask to have the plates cleared away.

When we read about the recent re-opening, we had to come and try. From the first impressions of the streamlined but elegant dining area and friendly but experienced staff to the beautiful menu and wine list, we were excited. From the Ortiz anchovies and delicate croquettes, through a delicate scallop pie and carpaccio of wagyu beef to a whole King George whiting and a blue swimmer crab smaller plate pared with a French chablis, we were in heaven. To finish, a hot passion fruit soufflé, well worth the wait and a trio of delightful little tartlets, from the hands of an extremely accomplished pastry chef. Don't forget to book, this is a winner

Thanks to a recommendation by a local winery we booked a last minute table at Vintners. Absolutely stunning food, we enjoyed several small bites, followed by 2 small plates including a scallop pie which was to die for, then mains of quail and pork rack. We BYOd our locally bought wine. Thanks especially to Zoe for looking after us Queenslanders...she knows how special we found it!! 😘 Will definitely be back next time in the Barossa.

First time to this restaurant. Had heard so many things and it didn’t disappoint!! Lovely ambiance & mood for a romantic Saturday night. Maybe slightly warm for a dining room but waitress tried to accommodate considering the warm night. Bathroom facilities great & clean. Menu costing was slightly confusing as it’s priced per number of courses not what course. Every course was exceptional. Amazing. Can not fault it. Some moments of service slightly lacked such as breaking the cork in our BYO bottle of wine and forgetting a course we ordered but it was overcome by the amazing food. Will return!

Visited with 3 couples. Excellent, well priced and diverse wine list. Satisfied all the wine aficionados in our group. Rami, one of the owners, sensed we were hungry on arrival and had food on the table in minutes. Food is outstanding. We opted for 3 courses as we had a long leisurely lunch. Service was spot on. Efficient, friendly and spot on. Cannot wait to go again.

We were seated at a lovely table in front of the fire. Menu looked interesting with a number of dishes instantly taking our attention. The menu was split into five major sections being Little Bits, Raw, Smaller, Bigger and After (desserts). There were six dishes in the Little Bits category, each with a price per dish or per piece. Other than this the menu offered 2 courses from the other 4 categories for $68 per person, 3 courses for $86 per person or 4 courses for $98 per person. Sides of fries and XO beans were an extra cost of $9 each. We started with two smoked corn, aged Comte and herb croquettes from the Little Bits category which were delicious. We followed this with shared plates of the Atlantic salmon, ponzu, black rice and furikake which was a delicious combination and the kingfish with finger lime, oil, soused onions and capers. From the Smaller category we chose the Hervey Bay scallops (3 scallops in their shells) with charred cauliflower, white miso and crumbs. The latter adding some good texture and crunch. Also had the whipped ricotta with beets, hazelnut, kumquat and sorrel. This was a nice combination of flavours although the beets threatened to overtake the dish. Bigger dishes were the Barramundi with romesco, roasted tomato and fried parsley and the char grilled scotch fillet with shogun dressing and chives. These dishes were accompanied by an included green salad. We enjoyed both of these dishes. We also ordered sides of beans and fries. We were too full to even contemplate any dessert although on another occasion these would have appealed. Wine list was very extensive with a wide selection of Australian and Overseas wines. We ordered a bottle of John Duval 2018 Annexus Grenache. We were bought a 2019 as the 2018 was apparently out of stock but pricing was unchanged. Staffing was mixed. It ranged from the very experienced lady who was very friendly to the young lady who advised my wife that she shouldn’t eat any of the fries as they had been “coated in gluten before they were cooked”. Think she may have been referring to cross contamination as they had been cooked in the same oil as some other dishes. Ambience, particularly with a lovely wood fire blazing away, from our perspective, would have been enhanced with a better background soundtrack. Recommended.

Fine dining meets down to earth. We were met with a happy anniversary & a glass of champagne then seated with a window view of the beautiful grounds. The food was to die for and the service knowledgeable and insightful paring all of our meals with a wine. We had cured kingfish, beef crudo, pigs ears, octopus, chocolate marquise and parfait with mango finishing the night with a cognac. Thank you so much Peter & staff.

My wife and I went to this restaurant based on good reviews we read. We encountered unprofessional service, dishes incorrectly described on the menu, rudeness and basically low quality cuisine. As a small compensation, we were not charged for one dish which was inedible. We do not recommend this establishment.

Had dinner at Vintners last week and went home extremely happy. It was busy for a mid week but that didn't hinder the service which was excellent and nice to see Nick Stock as acting sommelier who was helpful on wine selection. The menu is not large but provided great variation and able to please most palates. We shared three small plates between three of us then selected a main course each. I had the duck curry which was great. The kingfish and ocean trout were well received. A top spot for the Barossa.

Fantastic start to a wine weekend. My friend and enjoyed a great evening here on a bitterly cold winter’s evening. The service and food were excellent and the wine list had a great choice of wines with some older vintages also available. I had the quail and the steak and they were perfectly cooked. I would not hesitate to go back again!

This restaurant deserves to be better known and frequented. It seems to have slipped under the radar as other establishments have been duly lauded. Make no mistake this is easily one hat cooking. While I won’t single out individual dishes I can say that we asked to be fed and the procession of food was exemplary in design, technique and flavour. Support this local gem.
