Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We thoroughly enjoyed lunch at Hive, after a bike ride from Nuriootpa. The zucchini tart with cous-cous salad was delicious, but the high point of lunch was the waffle with berries and ice cream. Whoever made that waffle did a really great job. The coffee was also excellent.
Judging from the behaviour of the staff, this appeared to be a happy place to work. We certainly enjoyed our lunch there.

So many vegetarian options, it was difficult to choose, but I opted for the falafels and they were delicious, not at all dry like most places.
The staff were extremely friendly and the cafe was spacious, clean and pleasant. Highly recommended.

Lovely cafe, nice ambiance. Food delicious and well presented. Nice large pot of tea for one. We had toast, fruit toast, granola with fruit, all were delicious. Definitely recommend for breakfast in Angaston

Totally disappointing, I understand it’s a public holiday but to be told that the kitchen was closed at midday was unbelievable. The coffee was ok, I have had better cakes and a mushroom toastie for $16 was not very appealing.. The cafe was still being patronised when the staff placed chairs on tables and started mopping the floor. I felt that I was being an inconvenience for them.

I arrived around 830am at the cafe there were about 6 other customers. I ordered a coffee and poached eggs with a side of bacon. The coffee came along promptly but the breakfast arrived one hour later . I had to ask if they had forgotten. Apparently several bacon and eggs rolls had been ordered prior to my arrival and this took precedence. I did note that several people coming well after my arrival were served long before me. I don't mind waiting for my coffee or my meal and I understand that post covid times are difficult for businesses especially staffing the business. I am also happy to pay decent prices for my meal. However, if I have to ask if I have been forgotten , to be told there is one meal before yours and still wait a long time is slightly irritating. But then to finally be served a very visually unappealing meal of two rock hard poached eggs with a very scungy and cold piece of bacon really irritates me. The coffee was OK I've had better, I've had worse .

Good points:
Nice bright space
Really good coffee
Room for improvement:
Smoothie bowl - was pretty to look at but it was just runny liquid. I was actually surprised it was served so runny - it was not a hot day either.
Get the consistency thicker and add a bit more granola and it would be quite nice.
Eggs benny - my partner always orders eggs benny whenever we go for breakfast and he said this one was only OK and left hungry still. For the price paid, the meal needs to be more generous in size.
Also staff need to greet you when you walk in (important for people who have not been before) and advise them that they can grab a menu and sit at a table. We just sort of stood there waiting for some direction and had to initiate the conversation and ask if we could get a table for breakfast.

We were recommended this old style accomodation which put us in the heart of the Barossa. Conveniently located. Owned and run by a family with microwave cutlery and plates. Bed was super comfy. All staff were very friendly. Cannot fault anything. It’s setup to be family friendly with a great pool and outdoor bbq area and playground. Also a laundry.

We stopped for a quick lunch and a coffee, and that is what we got. Prices were reasonable, food was satisfactory, coffee was well made, and you cannot ask for much more. Oh, service OK too.

I wish I lived near this cafe so I could visit it every day! Open the door and be greeted by smiles from each staff member. A great set up with fabulous atmosphere. Breakfast was excellent, the Queen Bee serving was generous and delicious! The coffee was great! Definitely get to Angaston to enjoy this beautiful cafe and take a stroll down the main street afterwards.

Good but very slow service. Two take away coffees took over 20 minutes, and they were only one quarter full in the cafe. Go somewhere else.

Barossa was a fairly typical place for coffee in Angaston where there were few alternatives. Coffee was average as was the service.

Wow what a gorgeous shop and the menu is amazing so healthy and diverse. I had the green breakfast which wa smashed peas with eggs and fetta and it so good. I was hung over so no coffee for me but I had the fresh green juice which was so tasty and exactly what I needed
The cafe also sells local art and candles and pottery but it was so over priced it was actually unaffordable which was disappointing as it’s always good to support local business but the prices where crazy high but clearly people pay the money for them.
This cafe was so good it’s a absolute must eat at place in the Barossa
