Brilliant bugs, lobster and prawns. Great attentive staff and accommodating chef with willingness to make additions to menu.

We had a disappointing experience here. We went for dinner. After waiting a very long time for our meal our entrees arrived, followed very quickly before we had finished, our main meal arrived. I ordered grilled snapper which was overcooked and dry. My husbands main...meal was luke warm and some elements of the meal were cold. It seemed as if it had been left sitting on the bench for a while. The highlight and strengths of this restaurant I feel are the Asian influenced entrees.More

Just home from a weekend away, 2 nights in Rockhampton and two at Rosslyn Bay. While at Rosslyn Bay we had dinner and breakfast twice at The Waterline Restaurant. It was a delight. Delicious food and exceptional service. Would recommend it and would go again....Great location, top menu and reasonable prices.More

I have been to this restaurant a number of times, but mainly in the evening. Today we went for lunch. We arrived and I mentioned we had a toddler - a very well behaved toddler that is used to eating in restaurants, immediately I was...treated with disdain. We sat down at the table and before we had a chance to even look at the choices we had a waitress wanting our order. She was very likeable and helpful, organised our drinks and took the order for the toddler and said she would return in 5 minutes for our order, saw her a few more times but she kept watching the ground as she wandered around the restaurant. Drinks were delivered very swiftly, the toddlers lunch soon followed and we were served at this time by the Manager, neither of these times were we asked if we were ready to order. Granted they were busy but after 40 minutes where the waitresses avoided any sort of eye contact with us or anyone around us, we finally went to order at the counter where you usually pay not order…… clearly this was a universal problem as there was a line up of other patrons wanting to place their orders. After another 30 minute wait and noticing that people who had walked in after we had placed our order were being fed, we questioned where our meals were -( I might add they were mainly appetisers certainly not meals). We were told they were on the go and would be served soon, after another 15 minutes we were done waiting and asked to pay for our drinks and toddlers meal, only to be advised that they had just started cooking our meals- too late! As we were leaving a young girl apologised for the meal situation, but she should not have been in that position it just comes down to poor management and lack of staff. My husband daughter and baby left ahead of me as I had to collect something from the Mariner office - that’s when I got mad. I heard the Manager explaining to young woman that had just apologised , that we were typical whinging customers who say “no we are not ready to order and expect to get their meals before everyone else”. No mate we did not expect our meals to be rushed, what we did expect was for somebody in the hr and 45 mins we were there to see if we were still deciding, whether we needing another drink, or maybe some basic customer service- example comes from the top and he was at fault. Had he done his job 10 minutes in, I wouldn’t be having my rant!! And mate wait until your customers leave your restaurant before you start bad mouthing and lying about them to your staff.More

We arrived. There was what I think an off duty staff member with a beach towel slung over his shoulder taking up the reception space. Three working staff members did not interrupt his charades and we had to wait for the clown to finish. We...were then snapped at with "Doya have a bookin?" There were two different menus on our table unbeknown to us. The waitress didn't know which menu we should use. We chose the sushi for the child. Guess what? No sushi available. Ordered wine. It never arrived. We ordered a beer. It arrived with a dirty glass. Plastic Bunnings table was not what you would expect to eat off for the prices you pay.More

Easy going atmosphere where flip flops or no shoes is acceptable and the food is 5 Star. Highly recommended the laksa, a delightful seafood spoonful that you just never want to stop. Dumplings and entrees each mouthful was so good my husband and kids would...eat there every day too if it wasn’t a bit above almost the weekly shop with drinks. Food and price are equivalent to a night out for a treat. Marina in view, sitting out on the grassed area was gorgeous and the staff were delightful too. Highly recommend the splurge.More

Food here is fantastic but unfortunately the last couple of times we have come here the male manager/shift leader was unbelievably rude and unwelcoming. Has a very condescending attitude and his service just made us feel so uncomfortable when dining there. Very disappointing as myself...and my partner are regular customers and love the food, but our numerous disappointing experiences with the male staff member in front of house has just tainted our liking for this restaurant. Maybe some further training on how to deal with customers or a new front of house manger would be suggested as there is a significant number of bad reviews relating to him.More

Seafood does not get fresher and sublime than what was served to us. Keppel Bay Bug Dumplings ($16) melted in your mouth and my laksa ($28) was flavourful and full of seafood it was like a delightful surprise in each spoonful. My husband had the...fillet steak and seafood, he was very happy too. The staff are friendly and prompt. Pleasant atmosphere as the sunset, no dress code. You may find yourself having a food coma.More

Being in such a tourist area, there is a fair chance they would be open but it would be worthwhile calling to check. If you can make your way to this place, do it. You won't be disappointed.
