Good food but untrained staff

We were a large group with a booking. The food was absolutely delicious - fresh, tasty and really well presented. However, the service was non-existent. The waiter seemed untrained and shouted across the table for our orders. He then left without taking all the orders and we had to bring him back. Food took over 2 hours to arrive, entree was served after mains and dessert was served without cutlery. Everything just seemed to be a hassle. We wanted to split the bill and were happy to work out the calculations ourselves but the staff member literally threw the receipt and a calculator at us. Everyone at the table was joking that the staff seemed to hate us.

Overlook the poor service

We visited Vue twice on our 5 day trip to Yeppoon. The food was good however the service from the owner was terrible. This restaurant commands a high price but we felt so rushed with the waitress reminding us that they had a booking straight after (even after I booked days in advance) and when they don’t take your order for quite some time, they don’t exactly allow enough time to enjoy your meal. we were expected to eat and run. This is definitely not a family friendly place to eat. Food was good but you’ll have to overlook the service.

Today l went their for lunch the staff welcoming and friendly. I had the grill bugs they were cooked prefect and the seafood paella was delicious thankyou to chefs of cooking great food. Only think l found dispointing was serves they hardly come up to you to see if you need anything you had to get their attention and it wasn't busy.

Don’t waste your time or money

Went there on a week night so a few customers in there but not overly busy. We had no booking but asked for a table young girl said there will be a wait and pointed to a table, We ordered drinks and then ordered food and was told again there would be a wait , When I asked how long I was told that as I had only ordered an entree I better order something else because I will be hungry as it will be at least an hour, food was okay when it arrived. We were not offered anymore drinks and when table was cleared offered no dessert even though two staff members were standing around. For the prices they are charging they need better service and a new chef if he can’t keep up on relatively quite night, they obviously need to provide staff training as the girl we had was very unprofessional. Will I be back definitely not there are better choices than this place and cheaper, Lift your game!

Raw fish with a side of flies.

Unfortunately we had a very bad experience. We reserved a table for our wedding anniversary. We ended up at a table directly outside the kitchen door with flies zooming all around us. My husband ordered the seafood platter which he was very much looking forward to but the market fish which came with it was almost completely cold and raw (meant to be pan seared). We brought this to the attention of a server who said she would get her manager to help us. We sat and waited…and waited…and waited. We flagged down another server who agreed with us that the fish was raw and she took the whole plate away to be replaced. I had almost finished my meal before the manager came to speak to us. She confirmed with the server that the fish was raw. My husband said that the flies were making it difficult for us to enjoy our meals and that his seafood platter had not yet been replaced. She apologised but said there was nothing she could do about the flies. We felt we had no choice but to cancel the rest of our order and leave. We paid for my meal and our drinks and left. An unhygienic and unpleasant experience. I had to take my husband to Hungry Jacks to get a meal which was at least cooked and did not include a side order of flies.

Xmas Party Dinner

Our work group went to Yeppoon for the weekend for our end of year Xmas getaway. We had heard great things about VUE and thought that's where our Dinner should be held. Tanya and her team were amazing. Tanya worked with us on a limited menu given how large our group was and did everything she could to accommodate us on the night. The food was awesome, and the service was top notch. All round a great experience!

Very over priced, very below average food

Poor quality and extremely over priced, do not bother! Got a seafood platter for 2, very small portions; 1/2 bug very bland and not fresh, 3 fresh prawns - average, 3 fried prawns - average, 3 scallops not cooked well, 1/2 small fillet cheap below average very bland fish, & 3 oysters per person. Nothing was seasoned, no chips just a waste of money, was not a nice meal to eat. Son’s pizza very floury base. Asked for a bottle of water for table couldn’t even get that, staff bought empty water glasses that they couldn’t even be bothered filling and we had to fill ourselves from a drink station, when paying over $200 for a meal you expect proper table service! Do not bother with this place it’s definitely not worth the money!

Top notch food and service

We dined as a table of 4 and ordered the Wagyu steak, seafood linguine, curry topped oysters, scallops, garlic bread and prawns. The food arrived promptly was absolutely amazing ! We all commented on how friendly and efficient the staff was taking our orders and delivery and meals and drinks. We finished our meal with the best churros we hade ever eaten.

Very Ordinary Service

Very Ordinary service, but food was ok. Waitress didn’t bother to tell us it was a restricted menu on the night until we’d spent 20 minutes looking at it. When we finally ordered, the same indifferent waitress couldn’t answer questions about the menu and wasn’t interested in finding out for us. Drinks were slow to arrive. We asked for all meals to arrive at the same time but the pizza arrived 20 minutes after everything else. It was the wrong pizza but I ate it anyway - just over it by this stage. You can do better in Yeppoon.

Oh yes please!

Tuesday night in Yeppoon and this place was hard to get into but worth the effort. Cool vibe interior and staff helpful with good range of menu options, including pizza if you are wanting a more laid back menu choice. We had only wanted a main as we had snacked elsewhere. The Wagyu rump camp was of extraordinary quality and perfectly cooked with delicious root vegetables and broccolini (we are on holiday - it had been a while). Spatchcock also very good with wines by the glass in sizes (large please). Can recommend!

Wonderful dining experience

Went twice in a week and both times food was amazing. Seafood linguini both times - plenty of seafood and a lot of taste. Both times the waitresses were exceptional- especially on the Sat night which was fully booked and busy, you wouldn’t have noticed as they were so attentive. Cocktails were on point and I’d completely recommend.

Under Serviced, understaffed and over priced.

Made a last minute decision to get in, it was booked out inside but we could sit outside, so we did. The heaters were not working as the manager had said “we had good weather so we didn’t re fill them” which was fair enough. We ordered octopus and fermented chilli sauce for entree. The sauce was tasty but unfortunately the octopus was very chewy. We ordered a pork belly pizza and a seafood platter for two for mains. Platter consisted of one bug, 6 prawns, 4 oysters, a few slices of smoked salmon, 6 scallops in butter sauce, deep fried prawns, one piece of fish, and deep fried crumbed calamari. The calamari was soft as butter and delicious. The bug was tasty. The scallops were overcooked and very oily. The prawns were huge and not so great. The fish was dry. The batter on the fried prawns was very salty. The cocktails seems to be pre made in bottles and then added with juice and ice. The pizza dough was unevenly cooked but edible. Overall we were quite disappointed for a $250 bill. The waitress told us they were understaffed as i commented on the time for my drink - drink was ordered before entree and came after we had eaten entree. Did not taste any lychee in the “lychee love” The atmosphere was nice and there is potential, but we felt we paid for the location. Understaffed, under-serviced and over priced.

Skimpy shrimpy lousy takeaway “PRAWN PIZZA”

Very disappointed in the quality and quantity. A 300mm pizza had 200mm of a few prawns and a few leaves of rocket drizzled with mayo out to the edge to dress it up. The next morning I spoke to the manager and showed a photo and told him it was the worst pizza I had ever had he replied , “This is the normal quantity and quality”. He was rude and aggressive in challenging my complaint. “We serve over a thousand pizzas a week, no one complains” At $28 was the meanest takeaway pizza I have ever had!!!!!

Dear Sir, thank you for taking the time to put a lousy review about us - as you said you would. As I discussed with you, we use fresh quality local prawns on our prawn pizza. In fact we use 8, U/10, fresh green prawn cutlets per pizza for our Prawn Pizza. The ingredients for this pizza consist of housemade garlic and white wine béchamel, sliced fresh red chilli, housemade caramelised onions, fresh cherry tomato, fresh grated mozzarella, housemade lime mayo, rocket leaves(for garnish and colour), and a wedge of lemon. As I tried to explain to you, we do not overload the toppings on our pizza and I am very sorry that this was not to your liking. My point is that you have been vocal about the quantity of toppings on the pizza but you have failed to describe what issues there were with the quality of the ingredients used, both in person with me and in this review. When you showed me the photo, which I am glad you did, it confirmed with me that the pizza was in fact produced to the high standard that we maintain. May I also remind you that when I told you this, you then told me that I should "wake up to myself". I challenge your words in this review as to who was actually being rude and aggressive. Up to this point I was quite happy to refund your money even if I could see nothing wrong with the pizza. May I also mention that as you were staying in the apartments upstairs from our restaurant I also asked why, if you weren't happy with the product, didn't you immediately bring it to our attention? We could have obliged your request then and there. May I suggest that the next time you are getting takeaway or dining in, that if you have a problem, you address it then and there, rather than letting yourself stew on it overnight. All the best for your future dining experiences

Terrible service, and overpriced food

We were really excited to come to this restaurant as it was in a lovely spot overlooking the water and had a nice looking menu and wine list. After being seated nobody came to take our drink order for around 20 minutes. It took another 20 minutes to have our food order taken too. The starters arrived after quite a long wait and they were quite yummy, but nobody cleared our plates... even when our main meals arrived!! They put our main meals down on the table without clearing the starter plates so we ended up eating our meals with a pile of Plates on the table. Numerous wait staff walked past us and some offered more drinks but nobody offered to clear the table for us. For the price we paid, the service was shocking, we were ignored for most of the evening (as were a lot of tables around us) and honestly the food was very average and was probably similar to meals I’ve cooked at home. I rarely leave a bad review but for the price we paid it left a bit of a bad taste in the mouth. Honestly wouldn’t bother coming here if you’re looking for an upmarket meal. There’s much better options.

Nice atmosphere, and one dish was good. The restaurant is under a complex called Salt, and one main course was ruined by an extraordinary amount of salt. It could have been so nice, and it was completely ruined by a ridiculous amount of salt ( and I like salt). When asked about the meal by the head waitress I gently gave my feedback and she was immediately defensive : “it’s the way we do it”, “we’re not going to change anything “. Appalling customer service! The chef needs a rethink and so does that waitress. Will not eat there again, and will advise my local family and friends to avoid.
