Lunch break safe haven

Went on my lunch break for the first time today, it was so quiet I wasn't sure they were open. It was definitely giving "backrooms" iykyk; but i was all for it as I'd had a hectic & overstimulating morning. Staff were friendly & prepared my rolls on the spot. Good prices too :). I'll probably go again tomorrow on my break.

Always good value

An old favourite sushi bar. Their karage (fried chicken) is my favourite. Cooked fresh and crispy, I love the mayo with chili powder.....delicious! The staff are always very obliging, I like a crab salad ship without the rice (unusual, I know) but is how I like it. They always make it for me, no problem. Great value for money.

Very Good Bento Boxes

The unusual name of the Sushi Shop drew us in for a quick lunch, as we saw the Sushi train, just a few customers through the window. Actually, two persons were busily preparing more of the Sushi plates filling the train. We also saw the availability of Bento Boxes and decided to try these instead. Service by one very young waitress was very good. We were give hot tea quickly and our wait for the Bento Boxes today was not much more than 10 minutes. The Fried Ebi Bento Boxes was a good size for my wife and the four deep fried prawns were excellent. Likewise, my Teriyaki Chicken was one of the best that I have tasted in the past weeks of travel. The chicken pieces were tender, the marinade was not too sweet, nor too salty, but with a very good coverage and slightly caramelized. The price of the Bento Boxes was good value.

Terrible - zero stars

If zero stars was an option, I would have chosen that. My son and I love sushi and were in the area and were excited to try this place. We should have noticed the lack of customers and gone elsewhere. After we sat at the train, none of the three staff offered us ANY attention - no drinks order; no cooked menu items; nothing. They continued talking amongst themselves (in their language) like we weren’t even there. We interrupted them to order some fried Gyoza. Unlike the usual pan-fried Gyoza we get at sushi bars, these were deep fried and totally dried out and we ended up throwing them away. My son took one bite of his salmon aburi, immediately felt sick and had to go outside in case he vomited.

My husband and myself are a lover of Sushi. We were recommended to try this place out. More staff than customers. Their green tea tasted over brewed. Then we had a selection off the train and off the menu. Their rice is bland and was too soggy. The salmon was tasteless and tacky to be honest I think I could have been eating a goldfish and I wouldn't have known. Nothing we had was nice. Will not return.n

Walked in with a family of 3. There was no one else in the restaurant and 3 staff members on. No one said hello, we got menus ourselves and called out three times to order by the time we got his attention and gave him the order he realized he needed a pen to write the order down. He came back we ordered and within a minute our first dish came out... it was cold. I looked over and said to the young chef is that our chicken karage, he said yes. I said it’s already cooked but cold he said I’m going to re heat it for you. At this time I said to my husband let’s go. The food we had ordered we expected to be fresh and warm. Not reheated off the train which we didn’t know how long it was sitting for. The train was full and there was no other customers. Terrible customer service, terrible food don’t go there unless your prepared to get sick.

Every now and then .....usually during the school holidays I get to go to the gym and feel myself getting all healthy and its around about that time that I think......mmmmm im having sushi.......For me I have always gone to Eddies, probably because its not franchiseeee and the staff and owner are all local Gold coasters who have worked there for a while and not the backpacker, casual type workers that we often have on the coast...no offence...I used to be one. The food at Eddies is always fresh the place is clean,,,,you don't have to beg for ginger and for me a couple or three plates for just over ten bucks ...is a quick simple decent lunch....Serirosly for me its the fact that you don't feel like the ginger monitor is about to pounce because I love the stuff.....I did notice they had removed the shakers of chilli flakes ...c'mocn Eddie get them back on the table......

Ordered through UberEATS and the food was delivered quickly and fresh. We ordered two teriyaki chicken dons, which were fresh and delicious. The sushi rolls we ordered (there were a few) were also delivered fresh, though the sauce did smear onto the container they were in (no biggie, that can happen). The rolls were definitely fresh too. I did order what I thought was a teriyaki chicken roll, no mayo, but seemed as though it was another don bowl. This might be due to me ordering with no mayo, or a bit of confusion with the receipt. Either way, this was delicious and fresh as well. Asked for extra soy sauce and got about 10 - a little excessive but that was probably my own fault! The only fault was that one of our two drinks were missing. I called the store straight away and a lady (forgot her name, though super friendly) answered and immediately apologised, took the blame for it and wrote down my number and the details so she could consult with her boss in order to fix the issue. She called me back about five minutes later with directions for the UberEATS company - where they promptly refunded me and offered another drink free of charge (we weren’t worried). Overall - super fresh and quick food, and exceptional staff that go above and beyond.

Best Sushi on the Gold Coast

I was never a lover of Sushi, until my daughter introduced me to this place. Now every time I'm close, I drop in. Staff are great 👍 food is awesome, value for money and plenty to choose from. Got to give it 5 out of 5. Cheers 😎

Too many sauces added

Had lunch here during the week. The food is excellent and service is also excellent but unfortunately, most dishes are heavily loaded with Mayonnaise and other sauces. I prefer to add my own sauce. We normally eat at another Sushi place down the road, but they have sauce on the table so you can add your own. I mentioned this to one of the staff as we were leaving for some freindly feedback so I really hope they consider the above as otherwise it would be a pleasure to go again.

I seriously am crazy over the sushi they have in Oz, just because it's so good! But what I can recommend for any one to get at Eddie's is there chicken teriyaki rice bowl or katsudon rice bowl, they're really good. Have it paired with Aussie ginger beer and you good to go.

Teriyaki on my mind....Best sushi ever!!

Our family have been coming here for ages and I have never had a bad experience. Eddie is always welcoming and staff always willing to create anything from the menu with a smile. Our absolute must haves are the Chicken Avocado Nigiri (did I mention the Teriyaki sauce drizzled on this?) the Vegetarian Nigiri and the Karaage Chicken just to start with...but then again, everything that passes by in front of you will no doubt be a temptation. Great atmosphere, clean surrounds and yes, The Teriyaki sauce is lovingly home made!

I have been eating at Eddies for almost 20 years , at the current and previous sites i go there at least once every week , i often take friends who are always very impressed with Eddie and his staff ,who are all well trained and friendly to their guests , It is BYO and the bottle shop is in the same center ,, Easy ..
