Unfortunately we were a little disappointed in our meals at the start.
Table of 8 was a quiet night no one in the dining room , when we got our meals all the chips on the plate were old and cold.
When we were paying $39 per meal (steak)
Asked for all new chips for the whole table, got told by the waiter that the chips where fresh, I advised the waiter that these chips were not fresh.
Ended up getting fresh chips and then the meals were good.

Finally after the hotel changed hands and the virus making things awkward, we went for lunch. The menu is quite extensive as well as the special blackboard menu's. I chose the rump steak which was very well cooked to my requirements with added sauce at no extra. My wife chose the roast of the day (Beef), again plentiful and well cooked. Staff were efficient. Cost was at the lower end in price. 250gm rump plus chips and salad $14.50, roast similarly priced. It was a pleasure to be able to go out again and we were not disappointed.

Had lunch at the Queensland National and it was a good experience.
The pub has a bistro style dining room that is both spacious and comfortable, with additional outdoor seating on the verandah that would be good when the weather suits.
There is a smallish lunch menu with an additional selection of daily blackboard specials, all most reasonably priced. Needing to order gluten free, I enquired about such to find that gravy and sauces are prepared gf and that all fried chips are gf as well. Excellent, if you need tis requirement.
I ordered the roast of the day - lamb - and thoroughly enjoyed kit. My wife had the eggplant Parma daily special and it was claimed to be both excellent and generous in portion size.
Drinks are bought over the pub bar.
Plenty of parking out the back. Makes for a pleasant meal and good day trip out from Brisbane.

We went there for Valentines day, should have gone to the fish and chip shop instead.
Whilst the pub and dining area were not busy, it took a long time for us to get served, if the staff were any slower they would be going backwards. When we got to our table it was sticky because they had been varnished a couple of days prior and weren't dry yet.
What they jokingly refer to as food, when it eventually came out, was pathetic at best. Mine (a crumb steak) came out and we waited & waited & waited, 35 minutes later the wife's meal arrived, by this time mine was stone cold. Took it back, told them what the problem was. My meal, (meat, chips etc) was put in the deep fryer to reheat, the result was a steak that had enough oil in it to be able to float on water.
When I saw this I asked to speak with the manager, THE OWNER turned up and basically didn't give a toss, told me if I didn't like it we could leave.
We did and will never be going back.
I have spoken with friends in the area and they have had similar experiences at this pub.

Should never have gone back.
Went for a meal with the wife.
Took 45 min for the garlic bread to come out then over an hour for the meals, mine came out and of course I waited for the wife's meal before I started.
10 min later, no sign of hers, so I complained to the staff and got a blank look in reply.
By that time my meal was cold so took it back, less than 3 min later a "new meal" came out for me. A steak that had been heated up in the deep fryer and was dripping with oil.
Add to this that the place was not busy, the tables were not cleared from previous diners and that there seemed to be zero interest or effort from the staff, I would not be shocked if this business goes belly up.

Went For Dinner with family unfortunately I ordered the salmon big mistake it came out raw sent it back second time came back out raw again when I complained she went to take it away and get another one I said don't bother I will just eat the salad and chips and by this time the rest of my family had finished there meals.
No opoligy from staff I even asked for the manager but to no avail i don't think the young girl even went and told them.
Actually this was the second time this has happened so until you get a new cook or someone who knows how to properly cook we will not be back.
Very disappointing.

Stopped in here recently for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. A lovely little country pub that was reasonably busy during lunch time trade. The Menu is small but has some good choices between Salad, Roast of the Day, Fish, Seafood Basket, Chicken Schnitzel, Burgers + more. There is Chips /Gravy, Pizza, Chicken Nuggets etc for the kids. Checkout the Blackboard Specials too - all very reasonably priced. Hubby had the Seafood Basket & I had the Chicken Schnitzel with chips, salad & gravy. Good home cooked meals and very tasty as well. You can dine inside or out on the verandah. Would definitely come back again.

what a fantastic pub to stop in for lunch.
Even the local crow came down for a feed 😊
Great food and sitting outside in the garden was a treat with so much to look at.

Went to the QLD National with my wife and friends for the first time after moving to the area. Did a pub crawl to find the best pub in the area. This was the winner. Cold beer, tasty steak and at a great price. Solid service. Great staff made all the difference between a good night and a great night.

We had a great night a few drinks and dinner was delicious and the cheese cake . All the staff was so friendly hope they keep up the five star service

Went to the hotel for dinner at 7.30 - no-one there - not even restaurant staff. The guy from the bar came over - asked him if the restaurant was open. He said yes and got the wait staff out of the kitchen. Ordered main meal garlic prawns. The meals came out - a small bowl half filled with dry rice - and another small bowl with a few prawns of varying sizes - a couple with tails on - the others the ones you use for stir fries. While we were eating - waitstaff started cleaning up the resstaurant around us. Complained to wait staff about the meal - offered a free icecream - which was rejected. Also spoke to the bar attendant about the lousy meal - he offered "something" to make it up for us - offer declined. Now I know why the restaurant was empty - this hotel is the only one in town that serves evening meals - captive audience - and they can't even get that right. Just don't go there in the evening weekdays - you are heading for disappointment.

Had lunch for the first time since changing hands again. I had the seafood basket, 2 fish, 2 calamari and 2 prawns with chips. A small salad would have been a nice extra and would have freshened the plate. My friend had the roast of the day, again very enjoyable. Finished off with icecream.
Service was good, ambience fine and good value for money.
Perhaps I would like to see a menu on the outside.
To be recommended.

The QN is THE best pub in the area hands down. Friendly staff & good meals. We recently booked a wake, held in the beer garden; Emily & her team were understanding & couldn't be more helpful. Mick & I always enjoyed our time at The QN.Thank you.

Staff super helpful and friendly. Meals are home cooked style and value for money! It’s got everything a pub needs to have. Super clean and friendly. Ample parking behind the hotel. Absolutely worth a stop for a coldie.
