Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was a lovely surprise find. The mango smoothie and iced chocolate served on the deck were a yummy bonus. The restoration of the house with the audio recordings were professionally done and interesting. Volunteer staff more than willing to chat and provide local history...and information.More

The food here was great and resonably priced. I had quiche with real salad including a slice of orange (like the old days) Make sure you have the home made strudel. The rooms of the house are a free museum. The staff were all very...friendly. We stopped on our way to Toowoomba and liked it so much we stopped on our way home too.More

We found this venue by mistake on a trip to Toowoomba. Only there for a drink - amazing mango smoothie and acceptable QLD coffee. The food menu looked like it would something for everyone and the pastries/cakes on display looked very nice, including GF options....It is worth taking the time to explore the museum which has recorded short stories for each of the main rooms. Nice small playground adjacent and clean public toilets next door.More

Due to COVID19 the building was closed on the day of our visit to Lailey, what I can say is that the Das Neumann Haus is strikingly different in style, with 'Queenslander' features it is the central section of the double story building that is...different. The house was built in 1893 by a German immigrant and has been restored and now functions as a museum and cafe, worthy of a return visit when it reopens.More

Das Neumann Haus in Laidley is a pretty place to visit if you are in the area. It is a delightful setting and the morning teas in Annie's Cafe are so reasonably priced. The olde world charm of this period home is complemented by the...friendly service by volunteers. The Apple Strudel must be sampled!More

The access that you have as you wander around this magnificent home is great and is very easy to see exactly how they lived. It is beautifully maintained, the staff are very helpful if you have any questions. Unfortunately we didn't get to eat at...the restaurant but when we drop in again we definitely will be. We picked up a tub of Creamed Honey and it was fantastic. On our regular trips to Toowoomba we will be dropping in for the scones jam and cream and creamed honey!More

We were happily surprised by how cheap and well priced the German and Australian food was, relative to how wonderfully delicious and well made it was. The people serving the food are lovely. Would recommend people drop by this house for some country hospitality.

We come in on a regular basis and were disgusted today when we arrived at 1:35. There was a lovely lady outside who was bringing the boards in so I checked they were still open and she said yes. So I walked inside to be...met with a a larger lady who gave a huge sigh and then when I asked for our two usual platters I was met with another sigh and told you know we are closing. We will never come back after that which is a shame as it’s a lovely place and the food is good. If they treat locals like this goodness knows how they treat touristsMore
