Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Once again, this place never disappoints. Great atmosphere, great food, great restaurant, loved the german beer. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. It's so good, we keep coming back.

Wonderful German food. Our group had the pork knuckle, wild boar, and steak. The steak was brilliant, the wild boar delicious and the pork knuckle a massive dish, and a rare experience. Accompanied by delicious real German beers it was a wonderful meal. One of...those that you keep talking about as you walk away….More

Travelling on my own for work and had booked this restaurant in advance based on reviews. It was lively with a great atmosphere. I ordered the saurkraut balls entree, which were delicious. I then had the pork belly which came with crispy crackling and a...rich, tasty gravy. Generous portions too. Menu included a wide range of German dishes as you would expect. A range of German beers too including the delish Weisbeir i had. The lady that served me was lovely and called me by my name, which was nice. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone.More

The service here was good with polite, friendly staff and quick service. The food was disappointing, unimaginative and overpriced. The schnitzels were very ordinary and the accompaniments were bland.

Fantastic service including a phone call the day before asking did we want to pre order pork knuckle (due to long cooking time), the drinks were AMAZING & beautifully presented then the food well wow pretzel is a must as entree & the portions very...generous. Will definitely be coming back. The atmosphere was very dark & moody feel perfect for dinner or lunchMore

We drove from the south of Brisbane to try this place out and we were not disappointed. We will definitely return again. Staff were friendly and polite, food was pretty good, portions were large, prices were very reasonable and the restaurant itself was really nice....We had a pork knuckle which was yummo, but I couldn't eat it all, so they offered to wrapped it up for me to take home. The german beer was superb as well. Easy parking in Limestone Street made for a wonderful night.More

We visited here for a family birthday dinner. Despite all of us living locally we had never been here in the seven years it’s been open. We were all very keen to try it out and it did not disappoint! The service was exceptional and...the meals even better. Having travelled extensively to Germany it made the night very reminiscent of those trips. Between our group the orders consisted of chicken and pork schnitzels and chicken parmigianas. The portion sizings were very generous and each meal was cooked to perfection. What a terrific establishment here in Ipswich. We are all definitely looking forward to our next visit!More

Apparently Beer cafe’s do a pucker schnitzel. It’s the reason you head there , for a crisp Pilsener or two and a plate of sausages prior . Dry pork Schnitzel and “Meh” service tonight . The pilsener was exceptional though!!

My partner and I had a lovely dinner here recently. To start off our waiter was very warm & welcoming, our meals were very filling and uniquely German as was the variety of beers 🍺! Highly recommend it and was impressed with the industrial interior...look of the place too !More

We went there for dinner after a recommendation. Staff were friendly and helpful. Good selection of beers, but the mains we had were ordinary. The cardinal sin for my wife was that the crackling on the pork was soft. We would re-visit, but occasionally.

Great place to eat. The pork knuckle is amazing, it was huge and we couldn’t finish it (we should of skipped the entree!) Friendly service and good value meals. Highly recommend!

Having travelled extensively we thought the flavours were a little muted compared to the real deal in Germany, but those in our group who have not been to Europe thought it good faire. The atmosphere and service were good and the prices not too bad.
