Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Disappointed with the service- had to ask for the tables to be cleared of plates that were building up. Owner litterally didnt bother taking any of the plates away and went and got other staff to do it....Wont hurt you to help out...GEEZ. Food was...okay, not worth the money- think it is overpriced. Staff not very friendly.More

Absolutely appalling meal, overpriced and an arrogant attitude when meal was inedible. Waitress was the blessing of the day. We travelled from the Gold Coast to celebrate Christmas with our visually impaired friend. We had all been looking forward to it for weeks. We frocked...up and we were all in high spirits. When we arrived we were shown to our table outside in 35degree heat, after we had booked an inside table. The Christmas menu was $66 for roast pork and panna cotta. The pork was dry as an old leather boot and inedible! We alerted the owner of our disappointment and his response was rude, abrupt and indifferent. We had frequented this establishment on various occasion’s previously however we will NEVER eat there again!!More

Quirky and interesting, this place has good food, atmosphere great service, and friendly staff. They care about what they do and how they do it. Our favorite restaurant when we stayed in Ipswich. Easy parking at the back of the restaurant.

The food was very average and not fresh. Have been there years ago and it was okay but it they want business in that quiet area of Ipswich, they need to pick up their game.

I was meeting with a friend who lives in Ipswich and she booked this restaurant not far from the town centre and station. It was very good. The street it is on is full of older buildings, many of them restaurants or coffee shops. We...sat on the balcony in the fresh air at the back of the historic building. The restaurant was busy and is obviously popular but we had a leisurely lunch without being rushed by the serving staff. I had a steak sandwich and my friend had the quiche Lorraine. We both enjoyed our meals. My sandwich had steak, onions, cheese, tomato, aioli and leaves, served on sourdough. It was very tasty. The service was excellent. If you need somewhere to eat in Ipswich this would be a good choice.More

Had lunch at 4th Child today and was very disappointed. I have been here twice before and loved it. Today I ordered the Seafood Chowder, it was disgusting, runny and cheap seafood and no taste, one prawn was delicious. I then ordered the Black Forest...cheesecake which when I looked at it in the show case looked dry and there was only one huge slice left. It was massive when it arrived, stale on one side. Didn’t enjoy that either. I had a lovely glass of Pinot Grigio but the rest was a huge disappointment. The staff were lovely, attentive and friendly. I think they need to lift their game. My friends had the Prawn Risotto which was alright but the Salmon and Pork Belly were superb.More

We have been a customer of this restaurant a number of times in the past and found it to be above average in all departments. On this occasion we experienced the quality of service, food and general atmosphere to be well below anything we have...experienced at any restaurant in the past. We were ushered to our table by a person who clearly could not care whether we dined there or not. Orders were taken (eventually). We waited 1 hour and 10 minutes for our order to be served but during that time, on asking the attendant if we had been forgotten, the curt reply was "we have a full house out in the back dining area and you came in last". In general the food was below normal standard and our huge surprise came with the bill. Apparently if you order a salad with prawns you pay $29.80 for the salad and a further $23.00 for 4 prawns to be added. This place has failed as far as we are concerned and we will be letting all of our friends know about it. (Talk about copping the Raw Prawn.) !!More

Had a fabulous lunch here for early Mothers Day. We shared a crumbed camembert entree and sampled the Stockmans burger, Thai salad with chilli prawns and the scallop and prawn rissotto all were enjoyed thoroughly. Great cocktails. The service was ABSOLUTELY 10 out of 10...with my adult Special needs son being treated like a king by the Proprietor and his lovely staff.More

Staff were lovely but after our initial order service was non existent. In an empty restaurant I had to go searching for someone to order more drinks and then again for coffee and yet again when my visit to the restroom resulted in no soap...or towel in the dispensers. Food was quite nice but overpriced for glorified pub fare and below average amenities. Its a lovely location but everything else was incredibly underwhelming. Won't be backMore

FC should be great. It's a lovely heritage venue with a view - a combination rare in Ipswich. The waitstaff are friendly, efficient and just generally lovely. I always tip. Sadly, the food is uninspired and seems to change infrequently. And the biggie for me:...the owner. I've watched how he treats his hard-working staff and it's not great. Oh, and it's disgusting to watch men walk out of the toilet with dry hands leaving the door open right beside where people are eating. Just gross!More

Slow service. We sat down and were promptly advised we’d be waiting for a long time. We were given water bottle, menus and sugar. The server then walked off without providing us glasses for the water or taking a drink order. We waited for 10...mins until a staff member to finally come by and we requested glasses for the water. We ordered sandwiches (for $20 a pop). Sandwiches took 45 mins to arrive. They were dry and pretty average for the price (no chips, no sides, just bread and filling on a plate). Worst of all, I had to do overtime to make up for the long wait for the most disappointing sandwiches in the world. Go to a bakery and get a takeaway sandwich and coffee and eat it in the park instead.More
