Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I chose the Esk Bakery for morning tea amid many other choices, mainly because you could sit indoors in the aircon and the flies couldn't bother you. I just beat the rush, so service was quick and they brought my order out to my table. I had a coffee and fruit scone. Though the scone was very light on fruit (2 sultanas in the whole thing) it was SO light and fluffy that I didn't mind. The coffee was good too. There is no ambiance here, and as the place got busy it became extremely noisy with staff shouting out orders and calling numbers etc. I would visit again for the comfort factor.....and the scones!

Before heading off on the rail, breakfast is important so we had heard this little bakery does a first rate job. Well they do and indeed did. Team are very happy and service oriented, social distancing is well in place so it is a very safe and secure environment in which to dine. There are some options pre-pared and there are menu options from which to choose which are made to order, Coffee is good.

Thank you to the young lady who served my friend and I today. I added on another coffee just before paying. It would have been an inconvenience, but she was understanding, polite and professional. She then went on to make me a lovely fresh chicken and salad sandwich. The coffee was delicious, and the sandwich was great. Will be highly recommending your business, mostly due to the service received by your staff members today. Thank you!

Every time I have been to this Bakery, I have walked away saying, ‘that is the last time’. A few weeks ago, was now very much the last time.! My reason for entering was only due to not having enough time to wait in the queue in the takeaway line next door. I purchased the same order I do every day, no matter where I am at the time. I brought a small Latte and a salad sandwich. When I received the order it came to 12.60. I quietly said to the lady, “ I think you’ve made a mistake’, she said ‘no that is correct.’ She wasn’t very happy even though I spoke quiet and was respectful, so I then asked another lady as I was heading to the door, she said also that would be correct. The most I have ever paid is around $10.20. The problem I had was the small, light sandwich had barely any salad on it. The price of good food is soon forgotten when you receive a good feed, I was still hungry after eating and very upset with the price and quality. I mentioned this to the next person I met that day, and they too concurred with the same. So, the last visit this time...WAS actually my very last.!

We called in at the bakery on Saturday at 2:30 thinking to get burgers or similar. All the chairs were stacked up and the floor was being mopped so we couldn’t sit inside. All the pies were jumbled in a heap on the top shelf of the pie warmer and the server then had difficulty telling us what sorts of pies they had left. The other cases were empty with only the top one or two shelves with content on them. As we thought they were closing we just bought two pies and bread. As we were paying I commented “are you just closing?” And the answer “We are just getting ready, we don’t close til 4pm”.

One staff member is very unfriendly. Food is great and it’s such a shame that two of the staff, (one middle aged lady on coffees and a younger blonde lady serving were just so beautiful). But the other lady (I would say is a manager or in a position of authority) was so cold and rude. Speaks to customers and other staff terribly. Had this experience the last few times we’ve travelled through Esk. Such a cute town that is obviously trying very hard to lure tourists. The bakery to us and I’m sure to a lot of people has always been an iconic place to stop and grab a bite. This lady is not doing herself, the bakery or the township any favours. I feel sorry for the staff that have to work with her.

Sorry to say, but they have the worst bread ever eaten. Soft soggy thin for sandwich loaf. We couldn't even butter it just fell apart, couldn't hold sandwich filling, was disastrous mess. Even next day when stale, same problem. We threw it away. What a shame.

5 Star pie and sausage rolls. Lovely friendly service. Nice, simple country bakery. A nice stop for a quick lunch or snack.

This bakery is perfectly placed if you are travelling through and need a break. Good coffee and a wide range of sandwiches, cakes and pastries. Plenty of seating and good service.

The donuts and Hot chips are very nice the staff are kind but clueless they re-read out order to us about 5 times and got it wrong every time they re-read then we asked for a cold sausage roll which they couldn’t do which is fair enough and they told us it had to be cooked but they didn’t say how long so we presumed that it would take 5-10mins but after about 15 mins they still hadn’t arrived so we went to go and ask about them and we was told they take 30 mins so they will be with us in another 15 mins by that time we had already finished our tea and coffee so decided to cancel them which the servers where not very happy about but if they told us in the first place they would take 30 mins we would never have got them.

Travelled up from The Lockyer Valley to Nanango markets. Looked forward to having one of the Esk Bakery and Cafe’s meat pies. I love the pies here, rich and flavoursome meat/gravy filling. Server asked if I wanted sauce with my pie. I declined. The pies are tasty without sauce. Slightly peppery, they remind me of Big Ben pies when I was at school in the 60s and 70s. Sausage rolls are great, too. Cake selection is good. They were busy at 9:30 am when ai stopped to buy a sausage roll and were having a busy period at 2:15 or so when I stopped to buy a pie. I was also tempted to buy a election of slices and tart. I just wish I didn’t live 45ks away!! Always try to time my travel through Esk on days and at times when they are open. Don’t visit late, the pies are so good, they can sell out!!

The Esk Bakery was busy on the Saturday afternoon of our visit, staff were friendly and prompt, there was a good range of bakery goods to choose from. My pasty looked amazing, generous size, golden crisp pastry, but bite after bite I was just consuming pastry, when was I going to discover the filling? My other half was looking forward to his pie reported that is was nothing particularly special or flavoursome.
