Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The beer battered chips was huge and definitely worth the money, the BLT was ok but the bacon wasnt cooked right through. Prices shocked me for a country town, but I supposed they have to make a business. The lady serving us was a little abrupt and not accommodating for a small meal (wanted us to buy the expensive one and take everything off it that I couldnt eat). Was disappointed as chose this place over the cafe.

We had two meals whilst visiting crows nest both were good quality.
Beer Battered Fish and chips cooked to perfection and very reasonably priced. Highly recommended.
The other meal was for Mothers day lunch. The restaurant had gone out of their way to make Mothers feel special, Table cloths, roses on the table, a glass of bubbles on arrival and complimentary raffle, which my wife just happened to win. A special menu for the day . We had the rack of lamb for main, again cooked to perfection. Perfect day. When next in the area we will visit again.

We dropped in for lunch today , I decided to get the garlic prawns / rice and hubby ordered the steak sandwich and chips .
The garlic prawns meal was really nice. The garlic prawns were tasty the sauce had nice flavour and a good portion.
Hubby said he really enjoyed his Steak sandwich and the steak was very nice. Friendly service . If I ever come back this way I would come back.

The hotel provides a pleasant dining facilities staffed by friendly and efficient staff. They are able to cater for gluten free requirements. I had a lamb roast of the day with gluten free gravy: portions were generous and the prices modest. GF bottled beer was also available.

Stayed overnight and had their 400gm steak cooked medium with mushroom sauce. Beautifully cooked and charred. Partner had the Reef n Beef and said it was the best steak she'd had for quite a while. Staff and service we're excellent. Prices very reasonable at $28 per meal. Would recommend you give it a try if you're staying in Crows Nest.

Busy Saturday night at the Crows Nest Hotel. We had the rib fillet which was cooked to perfection. The lamb pasta was tasty with great lamb flavour. The short ribs were delicious. Service was friendly as expected in a country pub. Will definitely be back.

We called in for lunch as we looked around this very small town, while waiting for our room to get ready at the local caravan park.
We where not disappointed, the staff are extremely friendly, and I loved the way they where very vigilant about signing in for Covid. A group of tradies came in and went to walk into the lounge, they where asked very polite to sign in or they would have to leave.
The meal was first class, extremely well cooked.
We returned the next day for lunch

Had roast lamb for dinner - large serving and very tasty! The other meals we spotted coming out of the kitchen also looked substantial and appealing. The hotel itself is in need of a facelift inside and out, and being handed a buzzer to collect your meal is pretty ordinary and unnecessary. Crow’s Nest is a lovely town with a village feel, but has limited options for dining out at night. The hotel could be pumping if it updated both its appearance and its menu.

We arrived in Crows nest about lunch time and decided to go to this hotel. Firstly the staff are very friendly and give great service. The dining room has a good atmosphere,
We ordered our meals, not a long wait. The food was very well presented and cooked to perfection, and good portions.
We will be back for sure

The Grand Old Crow Hotel was recommended by our motel and it did not disappoint. Its an real local spot with very good counter meals. Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. The dining area looks a bit too severe .....get into the public bar and mix it with the locals ....thats what a counter dinner is all about. Highly recommended.

Four mates on our post lockdown overnight motorcycle adventure. Rode around the area, including Bunya Mountains, then to The Grand Old Crow Hotel for some refreshments by the open fire, a yummy dinner and accommodation. Phillip the manager even locked our bike up for the night. We were extremely well looked after, with typical country hospitality.
Thank you so much Phillip & Pauline.

Better than expected accommodation above a pub. Large room and bed, kitchen and living room upstairs. Great public bar and bistro.

Oh, where do I even begin with this culinary catastrophe? Picture this: I’m presented with a steak sandwich so charred it could’ve been used as a building material. The bread was so burnt that even a toaster would’ve been embarrassed. I valiantly attempted to take a bite, but my teeth threw in the towel. Meanwhile, my wife’s roast had the texture of an antique leather boot and the flavor profile of, well, iron. The vegetables were so dry and flavorless, they might as well have been plastic props from a low-budget movie set. If you’re thinking of dining here, let me save you the trouble—don’t. Go anywhere else, even if it’s your own kitchen and you have no idea how to cook. Trust me, you’ll thank me later!
