Only in town for the weekend. Starving after a days sight seeing. Dean & Hanneke made us very welcome. Lovely, friendly people, and my rump steak was brilliant. So impressed we went back next day for Breakfast, and they were still smiling even after only a few hours sleep. Very Impressive, and with some menu and drinks additions in the... More

My husband and I have been here several times for coffee and dinner once. The décor is wonderfully clean and simplistic. Gives a good atmosphere. The coffee is divine. The menu is smallish but the food is exceptionally fresh and servings are rather large. The prawns are HUGE and very very fresh. The desserts are exceptionally yummy. The Belgium Chocolate... More

My wife and I went to the Black Cockatoo to celebrate her birthday. It is far and away the best restaurant that we went to in Tin Can Bay. Good service and delicious food cooked to perfection. Considering the quality of the food it was good value for money.

My husband & I just enjoyed a lovely lunch at this cafe. Not an extensive menu but the food we ordered was lovely. We chose the tempura battered Red Empreror and home made chips. It was genuine home cooked food, even the salad was lovely and very edible, not like a lot of salads you get served at most restaurants.... More

They even cater of gluten free clients with their lovely rolls and garlic bread (which did not have the consistency or taste of "cardboard as may gluten free breads unfortunately... More

Had a gorgeous view from our table down to the water.... We both chose the quiche with salad which was far from your average quiche. Obviously homemade and tasted divine. Great service. A very enjoyable lunch.

This place has long been a family favorite so we were sad to see the previous owners leave. The new owners are friendly and welcoming, the food is fantastic, as is the location. They were very helpful with our dietary needs as well. The only downside is the lack of eftpos (probably temporary) which limited our menu selections to the... More
