We had an early morning pick up for our Fraser Island tour and discovered this place opened at 4am and was a short walk from our hotel. The service was friendly and accommodating and they made us egg sandwiches on rolls. The bread was soft and good. They had lots to choose from. Their pies looked good too! Just be aware that even though their sign says they close at 5pm, they often close by 2pm when they sell out of everything. We discovered this when we went back to get beef pies for lunch. We never got to try the pies.

We prefer this one to the other - in the main area.
Lovely staff and good food. Raisin toast could do with a few more raisins though.
Next to the Shell Servo - good parking but easy walk from just about anywhere. Bread ready quite early each morning.

Pies, breakfast items, tea and coffee all great.
Definitely give it a go while in Rainbow beach.

I am sorry to say, but after our second attempt to buy baked goods from this bakery, it is certainly gone downhill plain and simple. They are rushing the cooking and both the pies and apple scrolls. The pastry was Uncooked and the filling very limited.
Surely they’re not that greedy for a dollar that they would ruin their name by putting stodgy food out for sale
The rolls we bought also could’ve done better with a few more minutes of baking. It just seems everything is rushed We certainly won’t be back and will try the other bakeries or just bring fresh rolls and bread from home

Bakery had 2 female staff younger and older. Had 2 customers before me to be served. The younger staff did not greet, make eye contact. Handled bread with hands not tongs. Rude. Such a shame for a young person. The older lady started to serve. She was no better. Both staff putting what customer orders in same pile as other persons goods. Customers having to separate our own food. Asking if there was a certain sausage roll and the look given with response 1 is in there. I have never felt so angry and upset with such service. The other customer looked at me with the same look as I had. These people shouldn't be in hospitality if they don't enjoy it.
On the other hand Ed your pies and sausage rolls are nice.
I do hope these staff were just having a bad day. But a smile and have a great day or a thank you is all it takes.

Great bread and until this visit I rated them as the best pies in Australia, unfortunately the pies aren't as good as they used to be.

What a selection of food to buy from this bakery. You will not go hungry here. Centred at Rainbow Beach easy to get to. Visit Ed’s bakery today you will not regret it.

Everywhere you go there is someone claiming that they make the best pies. Ed’s though got voted by the creek and coast team as the best pie in Australia. So since we were in town we pick up a couple of pies and ended up going to three well rated pie shop for the day.
What is distinctive about Ed’s pie is the pastry.
The top is flaky but many pies are. But the base is salty and contains something that lingers on in your mouth afterwards. Obviously they have used something other than fbutter in their pastry? Beef shortening?
If you like that you are going to like this pie, otherwise could not rate it higher than other pies we tasted.

Rainbow beach has so many options for food. This bakery had pies, sausage rolls, breads, pastries, cakes and nice cold drinks. I had beef cheese and tomato pie and it was lovely

Soft and tasty white bread with sesame seeds. Also has great pies and makes sandwiches and rolls as they are ordered - NOT sitting in a case.

Sign says best pies in town & I agree, bring a pie connoisseur... I had one from both shops.
Both are really good, don’t get me wrong, my pick was Ed’s slightly better.
