I attended a family gathering here and were immediately impressed by the decor and service. The excellent service continued throughout the night and the food was decadent, beautifully presented and delicious. Highly recommended

We celebrated a double birthday party at this venue recently. Our table was in the open plan area which makes up the bulk of the seating arrangements. There are some private dining rooms and one with an open fireplace which makes for a very romantic mood if the occasion warrants that ambience. The staff was very attentive and, although there was a private function being catered for in an outdoor area, we never had to look around for wait staff. Courses were well timed. The menu is a little dated but it obviously works well for their clientele as the restaurant was crowded for our lunch time celebratory meal. We would go there again to celebrate a special occasion.

The Courthouse falls a little short of true 'fine dining', but it is a cut above the typical suburban restaurant and easily the best restaurant in the Cleveland / Redland Bay area. Our latest dinner at the Courthouse was in the COVID era, although only the spacing of the tables would portray this. The menu is not extensive but perfectly adequate for all tastes, with interesting choices for each course. Our dishes were all well cooked and presented - and tasted just as good. The excellent service and elegant decor are all part of the experience. There is an elegance to the indoor areas which is enhanced by the classical music being expertly played on the grand piano. There is also an outdoor area overlooking the gardens and bay. Pricing is very reasonable for this quality of restaurant. There is a fixed price for a 3 course meal - regardless of the choices you make from the menu. The wine list has a good range and is also very reasonably priced. We will be very happy to return again to the Courthouse.

We are used to fine dining and what sets The Court House apart is their reliability in making classic comfort food. The beef cheeks with potato mash and jus melt in your mouth and are served with perfectly cooked greens and roasted carrots. My husband's barramundi was moist and delicious. The deep fried camembert with the cranberry sauce delicious. I had a delightful 70's moment reflecting on time with family and friends. Again it's the classics that The Court House does well and has immortalized. The service was just right too and all the waitresses were lovely. The old world charm and authenticity of The Court House made it special too. It's reliability and comfort food is much needed in the present environment. The pianist sang classics and modern songs and my husband even sang along. Thanks to everyone who works at The Court House for a lovely night. Well done. Photo of the old jail cell attached too.

A tasty treat during these difficult Covid 19 days. The Courthouse Restaurant were preparing special treats for customers for Mother’s Day, to enjoy in the comfort of their own homes. Two friends and I gathered to indulge in a most scrumptious High Tea. We received a simply wonderful variety of treats, savoury and sweet, along with a bottle of good quality bubbly. 🍾🥂 It was enjoyed immensely by all three of us. Well done to all at the Courthouse Restaurant for another successful innovation during our social distancing restrictions.

This restaurant was recommended to us a group of six. The actual restaurant needs a good make over ! Possibly because of Cova 19 the restaurant looked bare . My meals were unsatisfactory. For entree I chose the Grilled Harvey Bay Scollops with a mornay sauce. It looked horrendous on the plate. There was absolutely no mornay sauce ! It was a very small scollop with melted cheese on top. My suggestion would be to remove the scollop from its shell pan fry the scollop and then return to the shell. Nape the mornay sauce over the scollop maybe sprinkle a little more cheese on top. Then under the salamander till it’s melted & golden brown. The ones I received were as tough as old boots. Possibly under the salamander far to long and the cheese was burnt to the shells . For $25.90 it was s total rip off and certainly not worth $25.90. For main course I chose the Pan Seared Atlantic Salmon Garlic Prawns & Bok Chou. Again the Salmon was very dry & over cooked not translucent at all. The Prawns were over cooked rubbery & chewy. Again this meal was $42.90 and certainly not worth the money. I only wish I had taken some pictures. This restaurant in my opinion is certainly not fine dining & far to expensive for what you receive. Again in my opinion give this restaurant a BIG MISS !!!

My wife and I had a meal here at the Courthouse restaurant for our 45th Anniversary, while the prices were high it was worth it. There was a good selection from the menu and we ended up having 3courses which is generally unusual as we tend not to have big portions. We picked the most lavish courses as this was a special occasion. The ambience also was ideal with a piano 🎹 played for a good part of the evening. We enjoyed it so much I even left a good tip.

We had a special occasion so nice dinner was the go. Been new to the area we had to just choose be just reading through some of the menus. Ended up trying “The Court House Restaurant” 2 of us ordered the Duck & the other person ordered the Veal plus we had a side order of Beans & Fries. Due to Coronavirus it was a home delivery. Well all i can say is that it exceeded out expectations . It is now a MUST to do again & soon. Smartly dressed young man delivered our meals, good size portions, heated to perfection. Plus the beens just perfect as was every thing. We did order dessert but that had to wait till the next day as we had, had more that our fill..... HIGHLY RECOMMEND. ...M.H.😀

The FOOD! It not only tastes so delectable, it looks like an art piece and every facet of the taste experience has been well thought through. I’ve travelled the world and have never had a meal served like this Atlantic Salmon was served. Magnificent! Full praise to the chef! He/she understands food at the highest level! Kudos to you! The staff greeted us like friends, were attentive but not in your face, they are SO well trained! It is the perfect experience. The wine, one we’ve never had before was exemplary, they even take pains with their wine selection. This restaurant is the full package, from start to finish, it is such a welcome, wonderful experience of taste, beautiful ambience, decor is such an experience you want to wander through and see it all. The staff are the icing on the cake. It was the perfect experience! Thank you so much... There was a wedding in the main room and this was handled so smoothly that it added to our enjoyment of the evening rather than detracting. We have been to restaurants handling a large booking and were left feeling they’d forgotten us...NOT here, despite their clear busyness not a hitch, it was all handled to perfection. No waiting, nothing was different to their usual professional way of treating their treasured diners. This is how we feel staff, TREASURED!! Feathers in all of your caps, please wear them with pride knowing you have each worked together to make a truly magnificent experience for each of your lucky diners....

There’s no doubt the location of this stunning old courthouse is amazing; right on the water front at Moreton Bay. Plus the building itself is fascinating. We were really excited about visiting for dinner. Unfortunately, with the prices equal to that of restaurants in the city, but the food not of the same standard, we were left a little disappointed. The service was a bit lacking, the staff were friendly, but inattentive. It took well more than half an hour for an initial order. The meat-eater ordered scallops for entree; barramundi for main; and affogato for dessert. The vegetarian ordered soup for entree; vegan shepherds pie for main; and creme caramel for dessert. The soup had no taste, and the shepherds pie was also bland. We really were hoping to have a wonderful experience as we like supporting local and suburban restaurants. But, it missed the mark this time.

The atmosphere is is up and down depending where you sit, we were put outside under a light that was dropping bugs all over the table, we had to ask staff to get the light turned off. The staff were the blessing, very prompt and pleasant and always on top of everything including the simple task of filling the water glasses. The food was average, nice menu but starters were cold, mains ended up coming out the same and underwhelming, just like heated pub food.

You have to pay $70 per person for an entree and a main or main and dessert. Say a big price for a main is $40 that means your entree is $30 !!!!! We had scallops and pork belly entrees. Scallops were very small and totally tasteless. Pork belly was bland . Mains were steak and lamb shank. Lamb shank was very good but the steak gets smaller every time we have it and again was bland. Maybe they need to put salt and pepper on the tables. We won’t be going back and nor will our friends and family.

Definitely a place you want to eat at at least once. You won’t be disappointed I assure you. It’s hard to recommend one dish as they menu has so many but if I have to , try the duck and sticky date pudding. Should be on your list for sure.

Had my Mothers Memorial Service at The Courthouse. We had their High Tea Menu after the service. It was fabulous the sandwiches were so fresh and tasty, the scone jam and cream soft with plenty of jam and real whipped cream, hot savoury was yummy and the mini tarts heavenly, then the fruits cheese and cracker and food was endless. The staff did everything to please. Coral I thank you for your kindness in organsing such a great event.

We have been here on a number of occasions but this time, even though the food was excellent as it always is, it somehow lacked the warmth and ambience that we are used to. Sure it is lovely to have crisp white tablecloths and serviettes but it was somehow bland. A flower on the table perhaps would have added that little bit of colour. There was a pianist playing at just the right volume but oh dear - like funeral dirges. It was actually quite morbid. As I said, the food was exceptional but I think I will be trying somewhere new in the future.
