Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Popped in for a quick drink and cheese platter. The Overflow estate is such a beautiful place to visit but was totally disappointed with the $22 cheese platter iwe ordeted it was so small to start with pre made in a card board box and...must have been made up a day or two before, we went for Saturday brunch, the couple of biscuits you do get were soggy the lettuce and other bits in there were all shrivelled up, not to the standard of the surroundings if feel if you can't present something fresh don't bother as it just downgrades the visit.More

Such a peaceful beautiful location. Best to go on a warm day as not very weather proof. Fairly warm winters day but we were cold despite the blanket offered and the heater had run out of gas. The food was average and the deep sea...cod I had as a main was dry and tasteless. The entrees and dessert were good. The waitress was lovely. We enjoyed the Tamperiilo wine.More

Loud live music detracted from the overall ambience and made conversation difficult. Good food, but the portions are small. Service OK.

My son recently took me for lunch at the restaurant just down the road. We were greeted warmly and enjoyed a friendly chat with Oliver, the chef. Our waitress was helpful and very friendly. The menu had a good variety and the food was served...promptly and beautifully presented. Drinks were cold and replenished as required. Overall, I found the food and service absolutely perfect. As for pricing, I rarely eat out so assume the cost is in line with what you would expect to pay in the city. Only wish I could eat there every day. Well done team! Debra.😊More

Had an unexpectedly lovely lunch at The Overflow! Expected just wine tasting and platters (as per the website) but found lunch was on offer (with the wine tasting). Food was excellent and service good. There are great views of the dam and the vines from...the breezy verandah. Would recommend this place for lunch to anyone wanting somewhere close to Brisbane--a nice day out! Or if you're having a weekend in the Scenic Rim area.More

Went for a wine tasting a group of 4 people. Sat for 20 minutes as the other table beside us had 3 tastings of wine. We were completely ignored. At $12.00 per head tasting and the potential of purchasing wine at $45-$60 per bottle ,...we informed the staff twice we were doing tasting. After the non service we walked out. Would not recommend this place. Take the trip and go to the Granite BeltMore

Enjoyed a lovely 3 course lunch to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We had to choose where we wanted to sit when we booked but as we hadn’t been there previously we weren’t sure so chose the deck. We were very early for our 1:30 seating...but were quickly shown to a table. As this is a winery we thought it strange we weren’t offered a wine tasting first. The table we were placed at had 1 seat with a nice view & the other faced the toilets. There was no way of moving the 2nd chair. I politely asked if we could move tables as there were several other empty ones with better views. After some discussion between staff we were offered to move to the “side” deck. A much nicer option. Set price for 2 or 3 courses. We chose the 3 course . We started with freshly made bread . We both opted for the sand crab lasagna for entree. I had the cod loin for main which was delicious. Lovely white fish cooked perfectly. Served on potato mash. Hubby had the wagyu rump which he enjoyed as it was very tender. Served with chips & green leaves. We shared desserts of cheesecake & crème brûlée. The crème brûlée slightly better. A good selection of wines to choose from.More

We stopped off for morning tea and thought about staying for lunch, but because the coffees were just made from an automatic coffee dispenser and the was no variety in the types of milk available and no decaf coffee available we thought we’d go on...to Beaudesert for lunch. There was also no cakes or biscuits available with coffee. Such a beautiful spot to stop, over looking the dam, but the staff were not really interested in serving anything else but lunch.More

I recommend The Overflow Estate - I have visited on a few day trips from Brisbane and am always very pleased with the location, food, wine and general vibe. It's a bit of a secret gem - Brisbane does not have a lot of regional...dining options so it's important to support the ones we have and this is a great option for a day trip from Brissy. Make sure you say hello to the owner David Morgan who will welcome you warmly.More

Today my mum, our friend and I went to the Overflow for lunch and we loved it! We all ordered the 2 course meal. Mum and I had snails for an entree and our friend had the lasagne. I had lasagne for a main and...the others had the duck. We all loved it! The lasagne especially was a standout favourite for all of us. We also had the baguette with truffle butter which was delicious. The food came out surprisingly quick because they looked busy! We had a bottle of white (which I’ve forgotten the name of) which we also enjoyed. I would have left a 5 star review but the service let them down a little. We didn’t have a booking, we just tried our luck driving past. When we arrived there was a line up at the door and a man (who I found out was David, the manager not the owner) was checking everyone checked in had a green tick. My mum and her friend don’t live in Queensland anymore so while they have the app and could check in, mums green tick had disappeared for some reason. She doesn’t have reason to use the app much so hadn’t realised. David told her she wasn’t allowed in until she had a green tick. Fair enough, that’s the rule. He stood and watched mum for a little and I said sorry, she doesn’t live in qld so doesn’t use the app much. He looked at me and really rudely said I still have to sight it and walked away. We stood for a while and our friend asked if we were going to get a table because no one came near us and we were left standing at the front door. Finally our friend went and tracked David down and asked him if we could get a table. We got one easily right next to the front counter. At this stage we had walked about 2 meters and not seen anymore of the restaurant, we didn’t know what was past the deck we were on so didn’t know there was a lawn area you could eat at. We had one menu between three of us and one side has the 2 and 3 course meal options and the other says On The Lawn. We didn’t know what that meant so asked our waiter what it was and if we could order that seeing as we clearly weren’t on a lawn. She asked if we had a booking, I’m not sure why and then said she’d ask if we were allowed to order from the lawn menu. She went to David, who turned to look at us and said NO. In a way that made us feel that we, specifically, were not to be given any special consideration. We were happy to order the 2 course meal but we didn’t understand the menu and what we could or couldn’t order. Our waiter wasn’t able to explain it to us. When she came to take our order my mum hadn’t even seen the menu yet because we only had one and she said, yes, we only give one menu to you and she made no effort to get another which seemed the sensible thing to do. We had a number of other staff stop by our table who were very friendly but David left an impression as being very unfriendly and unhelpful. After our meal we went for a walk around to try and see what was what and chatted to a lovely lady, Noelene I believe, who was extremely helpful, very friendly and spent the time talking to us about the winery, the dog who was at the wine tasting hut and where my mum and friend live. Overall, our lunch was great! The food was excellent, it’s a nice spot but the service could be better.More
