About
Plantation Bar & Restaurant at Lagoons 1770 Resort and Spa is most fortunate to be located on the Southern Great Barrier Reef, perfect for the production of the freshest fruit and vegetables. We use locally sourced seafood and grass fed meats wherever possible to bring you an innovative, modern Australian dining experience overlooking the lagoon pool. Neat, casual attire is to be worn at all times whilst singlets and board shorts are not acceptable. Due to our somewhat remote, regional location we operate with a small team of Chef's and our menu reflects this in its limited offerings. Worst meals ever, believe the reviews and go elsewhere. Garlic bread had no garlic, steak as tough as an old boot and covered in awful gravy. Fish and paste overcooked and tasteless. Meals went to wrong table initially. They get you to pay upfront because...you won’t pay after you’ve eaten.More

Looks can be deceiving. With limited choice on the menu steak or seafood. Meals were uneatable. Fish of the day 2 pieces of leather so over cooked yet served cold. Chips were cooked in oil that was too cold so they become oil sticks. Well...done Steak was overdone and microwaved potatoes. The slaw was good. The saving grace was the drinks and cocktails Service reasonable, though no questions were asked about the uneaten meals when clearing the table.More

We really enjoyed the seafood platter and found the service to be good too. Some items on the wine list were unavailable but overall a lovely dinner. Thanks!

Went for dinner with my husband, the wine list was jacobs or jacobs , price gouging at $28 a bottle. So didn’t have wine. There was no tonic water for gin, so had to have Soda instead The entrees were nice ,seafood chowder and a...calamari The mains were hugely disappointing, hubby had seafood fettuccini, the pasta was over cooked and soft, couldn’t eat it. I had snapper and chips at $29 dollars ,there was one piece of lettuce ,the meal was just okay, not worth it, we shared a plate of steamed greens, they were all soft, overcooked , soggy,…how a chef could plate these up!! there was only one waitress who seemed to be doing her best, as it was a busy night. two other couples left before finishing their meal, it wasn’t a nice experience. Although when we complained about the quality of the food, they did not charge for the pasta and greens. Overall it was a waste of time dining there,More

I made a reservation online for my wife's 60th birthday. Turned up at booked time to be told there was no booking.. oh that happens sometimes on the internet. No problem plenty of room. We both ordered medium rare steaks. My porterhouse was nice however...my wife's eye fillet for some reason turned up in 3 very thin pieces resembling minute steak and was cooked medium well. We told the waiter who took the order and he said oh I thought you said medium well..sorry. and walked off. The wine menu was absolutely rubbish! Only shiraz or pinot available was a standard Jacobs creek. Will not return!More

Staying at the apartments and was not able to eat dinner here so cant comment on dinner, however we were able to attend for breakfast one day and it was the absoloute worst breakfast i have ever seen being offered in accomodation. The manager was...also rude and looking down his nose at us very obviously. Glad we were unable to eat dinner here after experiencing breakfast and seeing the reviews.More

Didn’t expect much but got even less then that! Ordered the 400g Porterhouse Medium Rare, can about 300g and cooked Well Well with some mystery sauce. Not a sign of a vegetable in sight. My wife had the chilli seafood pasta which appeared to be...made with ketchup instead of some real tomato based sauce. The pasta was over cooked to the point of being mushy slop. My sons bologna’s was also made with some mystery ketchup based sauce and the pasta well over cooked. The staff didn’t have the care to ask how the food was or why we had left so much un-eaten. Would never go back and suggest that you don’t either.More

Went here for dinner as we stayed at the resort. Service started off well, ordered the steak and a chicken Neptune. When the meals were cooked the chefs pressed the bell for a waiter but none came for at least 5 plus minutes, at which...point the chef got visibly annoyed and came around to first bring us our cutlery and then finally our meals. The meals were at this point barely warm and somewhat underwhelming. Safe to say we did not dine here again. Best part of the whole evening was the arancini ball entree which were hot and yummy.More
