Has a great Buffalo curru here, cold beers, lovely dining on the deck with fans cooling the place down. The gardens are lush and the owner's veggie garden is amazing

What an awesome place to stay. A warm welcome from Chris. The Batchelor Butterfly Farm is a true labour of love from one very talented man who built the whole place himself. The teenagers were in their element-cuddling baby rabbits, watching fluffy ducklings and chicks....Feeding the donkeys, pigs, goat and cow had us all grinning from ear to ear. Oh and the cutest little piglet ever! Great to have a cool pool to sit in. The pillows and mattress were comfortable. Loved our time at the Batchelor Butterfly Farm. Highly recommend!More
Don’t be put off by the exterior appearance, inside it’s a gem. Safe are friendly & approachable. Good value for money, and delicious food. We love it!
This butterfly farm was a waste of time. There were more butterflies outside than in. It may have been wrong time of year for butterflies, but as a tourist attraction the place needed to be tidied up, better signage around the place, less of the...animals and more focus on the butterflies. Do up the gardens. Cost was a rip off for what we saw .. we paid $16 each and got given a tray of carrot between us to feed rabbits. And get rid of the bus.More
When I first entered I thought the dining area looked lovely and quite eclectic. I paid my $16 discounted fee and entered the ‘farm’ with a container of carrots for the rabbits. Signage was faded but I found them in enclosed pens that needed a...very good clean out. I felt very sorry for them, not a blade of grass in sight. Next I entered the butterfly enclosure. A bit tired and I think I would have been lucky to see 6 butterflies. The ones I saw were gorgeous though. The Croc enclosure is small and sad looking. The goats pigs and donkeys were in yards that stunk and appeared ( from my limited knowledge of farms) dirty wet and dank. I decided not to eat there as I was so disappointed with the ‘farm’ experience. Needs a big clean out and upgrade.More
Stayed one night and enjoyed the stay and dinner. Beautiful in a very eclectic way. Lovely gardens, interesting animals and a gregarious and entertaining host. Don't expect 5 star accommodation, but is is worth giving yourself over to the charms of this truly unusual and...fantastic place.More
Most disappointing visit anywhere! $20 each and we were there no longer than 15 minutes. A few free range chooks, some rabbits breeding away in indoor pens covered with filth and no fresh water, loud head banging music playing, very run down grounds and pens...and only about 20 butterflies. The meal area looked nice but we didn’t stay to eat as we were so annoyed.More
Dirty , muskie rooms .booked for 2 nights ,left after one. Got a nice meal down the road thank goodness. Would not recommend to anyone. Disgusting waste of money. Wouldn't refund our extra night.dont go there!
Love this place! Been bringing my family here for 25 years 💜 Chris and Angel always provide a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Lots to do for the kids- petting zoo, butterflies and Chris’s expertise Great food and very hospitable hosts Rooms and clean with comfortable...beds We’re locals and try and get down two or three times a year Highly recommendMore
The Bachelor Butterfly Farm was a most unusual and surprising place. We liked the possibility of being able to interact with animals on the Farm. The butterfly experience was far more intimate than others that we have visited. The information provided by Chris and other...staff members was fascinating. We liked living next to a saltwater crocodile. The meals were tasty. it is some distance from the car park to the bedroom, but the staff were willing to help and there was a handcart to move all our many belongings. This is really isn’t a negative comment just something that guests should be aware of.More
We staid the night in the cabins, which were a bit more than basic, but tidy amd clean. Food is good, the staff welcoming and unofficial as can be, lovely and friendly. Kids enjoyed feeding the animals and the atmosphere was as relaxed as can...be. Thank you guys!More
After a bad experience in Darwin ,I arrived here and I immediately felt good .The owners Chris, his wife and staff were welcoming, organised and friendly. As they say: Relax ... The gardens around the rooms are lush and beautiful .The rooms themselves are spacious, fresh and clean....Each room has a different theme .I had "Mermaid"and the blue colour of the room was uplifting . Chris' s positive vibe is infectious and the atmosphere here is fantastic. Children are also considered, not just through the farm animals . All meals are available and the bar is well stocked .Lovely restaurant area with good ambience. Butterflies everywhere checking out all the flowers ,not just in butterfly enclosure . Remember ...it is a farm .So there are all sorts of animals within the property !!!! I'm a big kid and loved them . Best of all with Special permission management let me bring my 16.5 year old Border Collie .Thanks guys .It meant a lotMore
I cancelled my July 2022 trip in May 2022 and didn’t bother to check if the refund had come through. Received a rude phone call asking where I was and then offering a credit only before literally hanging up on me. Have received no communication...since.More
Visited the butterfly yesterday. Paid $20 per adult to see only about 8 butterflies and animals living in very sad environments. See photo for a pile of bread, left in the plastic sitting in the middle of the chicken and duck pen. No water could...be seen, nothing but dirt and sad, hungry animals.More
Rundown and tired. About 6 butterflies in the enclosure. Redeeming feature were the animals which kids would love
