Great spot for brunch

Came across this place on a busy Easter Saturday and loved it so much we were back a couple of days later. Great spot for brunch or lunch where the staff did their very best to accommodate requests and exceeded our expectations. There were several options to keep our whole family happy and particularly loved that they have half serves of some dishes.

Delicious brekky, great coffee and refreshing smoothie

We located the outdoor area out the back which was pet friendly. It was a lovely little area to sit and enjoy our breakfast. We enjoyed coffee, bacon and eggs on toast with a hollandaise side and a rhubarb smoothie. So delicious. Great atmosphere. Will definitely be back.

Wholesome food done well

Delicious homemade food, so many choices all of high quality, makes making a decision very hard. My husband & I shared a meat lovers muffin which was delicious. Coffee cake delicious & pineapple cake also delicious. Great friendly service as well. We look forward to coming back.

Didn’t live up to its reviews

We dined here for breakfast based on the reviews but unfortunately we were disappointed. Had to explain each item several times to the male staff member taking our order and the requests weren’t extravagant and included extra hot coffee, crispy bacon, fresh spinach etc. Looked like the staff member had just woken up and didn’t want to be there. This staff member told us I couldn’t add salmon but when questioned it was listed on the online menu he changed his decision??? Anyway, spinach was wilted not fresh as requested, mushrooms and salmon tasted funny. Probably nothing wrong with them at all but the mushrooms had a very distinct taste. The bacon on my husbands meal was not crispy and he stated it was probably the greasiest bacon he has ever eaten. Extremely disappointed.

So, it's January in Eden on a Saturday in peak holiday season and naturally everything is closed. We are driving through Eden at lunchtime and Sprout is open. It's a nice location in the town centre and looks good. But...despite the staff outnumbering the customers by 2 to 1, the service is non-existent and we are ignored for 10 minutes before a girl acknowledges our existence. The staff don't know what cacao is even though it's clearly marked on the menu as a smoothie option. Water is not brought to the table and nobody can pronounce bruschetta. I asked for the WiFi password but that was an issue apparently. Eventually, it was produced so I could write this. Our Espresso Banana smoothies were clearly screwed up because others that came out later were much different. One of ours was replaced. Fortunately, the food was decent, if not remarkable. Sprout could be a real winner if the staff were trained properly or took their jobs seriously. Maybe we just got them on a bad day, but the signs are there that this is normal levels of service. My usual response is to acknowledge & accept negative feedback graciously, without attempting any explanation for why we may have fallen short. However, in your case, I will make an allowance. Firstly, hearty congratulations to FoodCo on Franklin - it is always great to hear positive feedback on similar businesses. I am sorry you felt ignored - for that I do apologise and will point out to all staff that no matter how busy they might be, they need to acknowledge customers waiting to be served. However, your arrogance and sarcasm, together with complete lack of understanding and empathy for what Eden as a whole (and hospitality businesses in particular) have endured over the past 3 years is astounding. Other cafes were closed due to the extreme lack of industry staff available. I will not go into the reasons for that now; it would be easy to find out if you are remotely curious. We have a lot of new staff and have not had sufficient time to teach them as thoroughly as we would like to in all aspects, so there will inevitably be errors as some are learning as they go, just so we can be open. However, how to pronounce certain words or advise them of rare requests such as cacao are low priorities. I find some irony in our providing you free wifi so you could write this damaging review! You clearly visited in an exceptionally quiet time as the number of available staff has usually been less than optimal. Those who have worked have done their absolute best and I am extremely proud of them all. Had you bothered to read other reviews you would see your experience was indeed unusual. Overwhelmingly, our visitors have been kind and understanding of world and local circumstances and many of them have now endured evacuations 3 years running - you have been an outstanding exception.

Lovely cafe

Amazing little cafe! I am on holidays for a few weeks with my family in Eden and came across this lovely little cafe on our second day here and I am so happy I did. I have been here every day since. I don’t drink coffee but the chai and juices have been lovely and each meal has been delicious, beautiful fresh produce. The staff have all been super friendly. Can’t wait to come back and try some more things on the menu before we leave.

Good food, drink & amibence - community & sustainably focused to boot.

Stopped here for lunch and enjoyed a tasty meal & filling shake as well as taking away a delicious veggie frittata & muffin for dinner. There are lots of seating options - out front on the side walk, inside the cafe & out back in the garden/courtyard under the umbrellas. This cafe is community & sustainably focused with local produce & products in use & on sale. It appears this cafe accommodates for vegetarians, vegans, diary & gluten intolerances among others. This cafe gets a lot of ticks in my book. NB I'm not a coffee drinker however was advised this is the best coffee in Eden. And the coffee drinkers in my group reported back favourably.

Friendly Atmosphere - Great Food

Went here for breakfast and did no regret it. They have a great menu and the food was delicious. Great service and friendly atmosphere from the time we walked in to the time we left. I like that they are able to be flexible. My son wanted a burger from their lunch menu and they were willing to accommodate him. I had the Eggs Benedict with ham and my partner had Eggs Benedict with salmon. Both were well presented and a pleasure to eat. Even with the current restrictions due to COVID they have room for indoor and outdoor seating. I would definitely recommend this place if you are in or near Eden.

Best food in town

Lunched here two days on a row and for a good reason. The food is stunning. All locally sourced ingredients beautifully prepared and presented. The chowder is a knockout and the rest of the menu is inviting. Great tea and coffee and lovely staff. Thank you!

Great service, great food with plenty of healthy options plus you can buy local fruit and veg at reasonable prices. Excellent coffee, and a lovely outdoor area out the back. Reasonable price and probably the best place in Eden for a cup of coffee and a light meal.

best dining spot in Eden

Breakfasted here and the food was so fresh, healthy and tasty we bought several quiche slices to have for dinner in our flat rather than eat out of an evening in what is a fairly disappointing evening selection of eateries in Eden township. Coffee was good quality, muselli excellent and the fruit toast artisan quality. only shame is they aren't open of an evening.

Healthy real delicious food

Fabulous health food with local produce. The smoked Eden mussels were brilliant - and available for takeaways I really enjoyed my salmon and pea frittata. The rest of my group were really impressed too.

What a find (coffee lovers paradise)

Our family of 4 was passing through Eden and looked for a cafe. A number of reviews online pointed to Sprout and we were no disappointed. But for me the highlight was the coffee. I love a long black and to find one so well made was a real highlight. The barista absolutely nailed it. The food was very tasty. There is an emphasis on local produce which is great to see in a small community town. Service was friendly and the queue outside justified. If you are in Eden or passing through, this is must for those whole appreciate a great cafe.

Morning Coffee Delight !

We visited Sprout every day of our holiday for our morning coffee, and full breakfast on one day. Coffee is fabulous & staff are friendly and efficient :) Three different areas to sit - front of store, inside store, out back in a small courtyard area. Highly Recommended! Tip: toilets are out the back, through the prep area towards the courtyard. For coffee only, a sister store is situated directly across the street.
