We drove into town looking for somewhere for coffee, Helen's stood out to us because of the large signage, when you want a coffee you don't want to be searching forever. The coffee lounge was very busy, there is the main shop/cafe and then walking through further there is a courtyard where there is lots of outdoor seating and a children's playground. The coffee was good and my husband had an apple pie that had fresh cream so he was very happy. Our coffees were delivered to us to the table when ready, however, I did need to check the order because it was taking a bit long and there didn't seem to be anyone making the coffees while we were waiting. All up not too bad an experience.

Helens never disappoints for always fresh well presented and delicious,Coffee is the best!! Staff are always friendly especially Virginia what a happy face always making sure everything is okay with food and coffees what a great worker! We always call into Helen for a feed and coffee when in town 😀

Helen's lounge was a lovely find. With a very old school warm atmosphere and an extensive menu. The place was frequented by elderly locals, so I took that as a good sign. The baked vegetables that were served with the lunch were delicious. The only negative thing I found is that the toilet seat isn't the right size for the bowl - even though it still worked!

This cafe just looks like many other cafes ... if anything it has an older vibe about it. When I wandered in the menu was rather extensive so I did wonder if I had made the right choice. Often I find if there is too many choices on a menu, nothing is done particularly well.
But this cafe surprised me for all of the right reasons... it's old-fashioned basic and very tasty food was exactly what I needed. The customer service I received was outstanding. There are a few seating areas - inside and out. I sat next to an old safe which they use for stores and they let me have a peak inside.
This cafe was the last cafe I visited on my road trip which took me 3629 kilometres from home, to Bourke, to Lightning Ridge and many other towns I had never visited. To experience this cafe on the last day certainly was a good way to finish up... because let me assure you not everything I ate at was this good.

20 of us rocked up not long after opening on a Saturday morning and right from the get go the wheels were in motion. Helen and the team stepped up and smashed out 20 breakfasts and 20 teas/coffees without barely a moment passing.
In the meantime local customers also added to the kitchen workload and she still had time to step outside for photos with our group.
If you travel thru Cootamundra, Helens is a great place for a bite to eat.
Great old world decor, a play area for the kiddies and terrific staff
Can’t wait to come back, thx Helen and the team

I had a 2-hour wait between coaches arriving from Canberra & there wasn't a lot open in the Xmas break, but this place was, and it was fairly busy inside. They had some standard burgers, and a chicken parma burger special, so I had to give it a go. It was massive, good crunch to the chicken schnitzel, and the sauce was delicious. The chips and gravy went alright too. I chilled out with the air con, with a bit of cricket on TV as well.

Waited for 35mins for a small Milkshake and coffee. There seemed to be no time management and several people walked in and out after being told a coffee is about 20-30min wait. There was about 3 tables of people but that was terrible service time for 2 quick and easy drinks. Sadly disappointed with our visit.

Staff were inexperienced & inept. Food that was ordered did not arrive. Fruit juice tasted like water.
It took over 5 minutes for anyone to serve us at the counter

Beautiful little cafe! Coffee was spot on and my egg and bacon muffin was delicious! Whilst standing there I could also smell a fresh juice being blended and half wished I’d got that!
On leaving I noticed a courtyard sign and looked out back and saw a massive play equipment for kids!! This little cafe in Coota really surprised me (I never write on Trip Adviser) but had so much to offer and I honestly wish them all the best..!

Helens is a hidden gem - great food, great coffee and facilities for weary visitors to Cootamundra. Head out the back for bigger tables and a place for the littlies to play.
