This is one of our go to places when in Raleigh. Service can be a challenge when they are very busy but that is very minor compared to the food. The crab dip with bagel chips is incredible. The chips are so soft and flavorful....More

Great deserts!! Never leave hungry. Go early, because it is very popular. Expect to wait. Dessert for breakfast is an option.

Had some down time following dinner and decided to try HBCD for dessert with another couple. We arrived at 815 and it took over 15 minutes for the host to recognize the small kine of people. I guess because there were no immediate seats available...More

Hayes Barton Cafe still delivers quality food and service. Tucked away in the Five Points district, it is a great little restaurant full of charm and character. Always a favorite is the meatloaf!!

Before they run out! Loved this place. It is quirky, fresh, delicious, but not inexpensive. I had pork tenderloin and it was amazing. Fork-tender, delicious balsamic gravy. Loved it. But - what we really came for was the dessert. Unfortunately one choice was already gone...More

Visited the HBC the evening of 1/12/17 with anticipation of returning to a favorite spot with a new BF who has a good appetite. I ordered the meatloaf and he ordered the Bella Linguine. The waiter strongly suggested getting chicken added to the pasta. The...More

Not a Walgreen's lunch counter. 3 of us ordered slices or different cakes and shared...plenty to go around. Best cake ever (sorry Mom). Pricey, but worth every penny. You can tell they are really dedicated to their art. If it has chocolate, it's even better....More

We've always been fortunate to find a spot within a block of the resatuarant ... usually, right out front, pull in style parking right there. Street parking, on the curb with a parking meter is the other option. Many of... More

I sincerely doubt they have gluten free items. This is a very old fifties style place, kinda mom and pop. It's really nostalgic for many people... old movie star photos on the walls, vinyl booths and seating... Delicious.
