You will not leave here hungry. The BBQ is perfect. The service is great for a busy restaurant. The beer selection is good. This is a go to place to eat in Raleigh.

My friend and I were told it would be a 30 minute wait on a Saturday night, yet got a text 5 minutes later that they were ready. The servers share tables, which some may not like, but we were well taken care of. The appetizer with wings, deviled eggs, soul rolls, and fried mac n' cheese was excellent. I... More

excellent food lousy service, the serving staff shares tables so you never know who to talk to and they don't really care about your table the hostesses look bored and blase. Not a place where I felt welcome But the barbecue is excellent, Ran out of hush puppies, a barbecue in the south, no hush puppies on a Saturday night... More

I have visited the Pit numerous times and they NEVER fail to deliver the best NC has to offer. The pulled pork BBQ and BBQ chicken is over the top. Tender and delicious. It's a must try for those new to Raleigh.

I would have given this restaurant a 3/5 if it wasn't for the alternatives they offered. The fried okra was ok. The tofu was just covered with bbq sauce nothing amazing. That being said I really do appreciate the options being there. The service was great.

Great wine and beer selection, plenty of comfortable seating inside and out. And the food hit all the right marks. Crunchy, juicy fried chicken. Smoked, meaty fall-off-the-bone Carolina ribs & biscuits just like grandma used to make.

Having flown in to Raleigh/Durham airport numerous times to visit family an hour away we always wanted to visit and eat in Raleigh. Finally got the chance and after an extensive internet search we narrowed it down to "The Pit". Unfortunately, we were leaving on a Sunday and the restaurant is located in the best area to explore but many... More

Good NC Q! Wait staff was excellent, prices are reasonable and food very good. Outside seating and big bar in addition to dining room.

Can a place that takes reservations and has valet parking really serve good North Carolina BBQ? Amazingly enough, the answer is a resounding "Yes!". Excellent classic shredded or pulled pork NC BBQ. Outstanding BBQ chicken. Numerous authentic southern sides: try the fried green tomatoes. The mini hush-puppies are a bit cute (Southern eating isn't about "small"), but given how large... More
