We visited the Dunes for an early dinner. We were looking forward to ordering a blooming dune. Unfortunately, that is no longer on the menu. The onion ring appetizer was tasty, but it would've been nice to have a zesty horseradish dipping sauce. The ribeye...More

Walking distance from our motel we did the breakfast buffet.I try to stay away from buffets because you tend to overeat and the quality of food sometimes is not the best.At the dunes, this is not true,we did smaller portions and everything was top rated. We like...More

We went in for a late breakfast and it was absolutely wonderful. I ordered the Poached Eggs with Grits and Hashbrowns. I will say the hasbrowns appear to be made in house and tend to be a little mushier than typical dinner ones. That being...More

Stopped in the Sunday before Labor Day. Seated promptly. We both ate the breakfast buffet. Great variety available and all items we tried were very tasty. Would highly recommend.

Description
This local, Outer Banks restaurant is now in it's 35th anniversary season. That's probably why it's called a 'Nags Head Tradition' by locals. Currently open for breakfast daily. Weekends - spring and fall - and daily in the summer season, there's a robust fruit and breakfast bar plus some whopping good breakfast platters. When dinner opens shortly, Specialties are real southern cooking - like fried chicken. Also a specialty - local, Outer Banks seafood - broiled, fried, and always good. Steaks and prime rib round out the dinner menu. The "R" Bar is great for a late night meal or a special drink. And if all this isn't enough, there's Roxie's Retail - great, flirty finds for your home or wardrobe. It's a family run organization that is glad to welcome locals and vacationers alike.
